This is the view from inside the Apple Cube Store on 5th Avenue and 59th Street. The building on the right is the former Plaza Hotel. Now it is being converted into a super luxury condo that sells for over $1 million per unit. So if you had $1 million dollars, what would you do?

$1 million? That's not much these days, when lottery winners are walking away with 20, 30, sometimes 40 million.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if I had $1 million to spare, I'd pay off my sons' mortgages, buy a newer car, take some fabulous holidays, and enjoy life.
Pay debts, finance post-graduate degrees for the kids, build a house in the country.

ReplyDeleteI'd finish paying my student loans, buy a Mini Cooper, set aside a bit to go to India for my honeymoon--whenever that is!, and put the rest in an IRA for retirement. Yep, I'd keep working, but would take really nice vacations and pay someone else to strip all the wallpaper at my house!

$1 mio. in NY? Hmm, I'd probably buy a small 1BR in the Upper East Side and IF there is something left, I'd save it to my that triplex loft in SoHo, or Tribeca, or Williamsburg, or... I am really not difficult.

I would travel for part of the money (incl. a few days in NYC now and then) and give the rest to my kids - I'm alright in my flat, I just got rid of my car and I don't want a new one...

If I had one million dollars there are so many things I'd do...but I very much doubt that I'd use it all to buy only one apartment.

ReplyDeleteIf I had $1 million, I would definitely pay off my student loans and debts; I'd buy a small condo and probably a new car. Well, of course I'd buy myself a new dSLR camera and lens! :D And I would definitely use the money to travel around the world while visiting friends from different places.

ReplyDeleteWith $1 mil, I would pay off all my debts (my husband & I) & purchase a home on LOTS of land;) (I do wild animal rehab:)
I would also pay off my parents debt & get them a home they wanted.
After that, I would just relax & enjoy the rest of my years & watch my children grow! And someday, maybe grandchildren:)
