This photo was taken from the window of a moving (#7) rain in Long Island City, Queens. The building beyond the elevated highways is the Silvercup Studios where many of the New York City based television shows are filmed. But there is currently a writers' union strike going on right now so all studio work are suspended until further notice. Shows that are affected include Late Night with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
So do you have a favorite TV show?

I knew I had seen that sign before. That is the old Silvercup bakery.
je ne connais pas, mais j'aime beaucoup la perspective de ta photo et la skyline de Manhattan que l'on voit derrière
I do not know, but I really like the perspective of your picture and the Manhattan skyline that we see behind
Hello! Hope all is wonderful with you. Back home now and back into the swing of work.....*sigh* :o( Not so bad though - I have tonnes of memories of a fabulous holiday, with a special thanks to you!
I heard about the writer's union strike. Quite a bizarre thing to think that our favourite shows may have no words to share with us if they don't come to some sort of agreement. Our favourite actors may have to improvise OR mime....hahahaha! :o)
Haven't watched much TV for the past month, but my favourites are Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy and I could watch 24/7 reruns of Friends and Will & Grace any day.
I really like this photo; looks so "NYC" to me!
I'm a very inactive TV watcher, except for a good film now an then (late in the night), some sports events...
I have ideas that the trains make a lot of clickety clackety noise passing through a neighborhood. Seeing signs like this makes me ask why? It looks buried in the cityscape and backwards on the train.
It is a nice photograph and I am surprised at how clear and sharp it is taken from the train.

Great shot! I am a total Seinfeld fan!
Also, I linked your blog to my Travel Blog... hope you don't mind :)
I don't have that much time to watch TV, especially those late night ones- I would be counting sheep way before they come on ;o)
This is a terrific shot, Ming! From the moving subway? Nicely done! I still wonder if we can visit... My first appartment was in Tudor City. You could see that sign and the Pepsi one from First Ave.
I have many favorite shows, but I really love Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.
What a great photo, Ming! Through the week, I like Dancing With the Stars, NCIS, Ugly Betty, CSI and CSI Miami (sort of), any Law and Order, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. My absolute favorite TV show, though, is The Closer which only runs during the summers.
Enjoy your weekend.
Favorite show? Heroes! I think this sign is in a music video I have seen it before but I cannot remember if it was U2 maybe???
