This guy was checking his e-mail or text messages on his cell (mobile) phone while shopping at Dean & Deluca, a gourmet supermarket on Prince Street and Broadway Avenue in SoHo.
So how often do you check your e-mail?

Oh, I check my (non-work) email at least 5 times a day.
I went to Dean and Deluca today, but it was the one in Rockefeller Center, not the one you photographed here. I like it, but gol' dang, it's expensive!
now that i don't have a bb anymore, i've eased up on my email obsession. it's pretty freeing.
constantly at work, a few times a day at home, never on the cell, HOWEVER, today I did check on my cell. I had gotten a coupon for 40% from Border's books, and they said that if I showed it to them on my cell/email that they would honor it! Handy!
I always liked looking through their windows. everything seems so perfect inside. nice capture you got here.
Hmmm... I check my email once a day. I try to check it more, but I often forget.
More often than I care to admit! Even when I know I couldn't possibly have any waiting for me, I still look.
Sigh.
Oh a lot cause I am at my computer a lot. I usually forget my cell phone and couldn't check email on it anyway. I love being "disconnected" when I am away from home. Call me crazy.

Email once a day...but the cellphone? Constantly!
like this guy's shoes, but that coat has got to go!
About 3 times a day!
Love your photo of Dean and Delucca.
Horribly overpriced but everything perfect and delicious.
Wish I could live in that world!
Merry Christmas, dear Conrad.
i love email.
what really bugs me is people
that don't reply to the previous
mails, and when they do it bears
no content to anything i had
written about.
i try to check it hourly
but sometimes if i'm busy it has
to wait till the evening.
love your blog.

I beg your forgiveness for my cutting and pasting – yet constantly reworking – this comment, but there was no way on Earth I would be able to make it around the whole globe to wish everybody a Merry Christmas otherwise.
The magical elves that constitute my staff have demonstrated their lack of respect in either not showing up for work at all, and those that have all seem a little worse for wear, if you catch my drift. All they seem to do is sit around smoking cigarettes that, quite frankly, smell funny. And they play cards and tell dirty jokes rather than do their jobs! Consequently, the reindeer are all filthy and out of shape. And you know, the two rabbits, one wallaby and three wombats I’ve drafted in just don’t cut it as replacements.
Anyway, from myself, Henry and Ezra, have a Merry Christmas/Winter Solstice/Hanukkah/Festivus and a happy New Year!
I hope that all of your holiday photos turn out to be triumphs, your stocking is stuffed full of lots of tasty treats and not coal and that all your pumpkin pies are all as sweet just the way that you like them.
that place cracks me up, with how expensive it is.
There is something to it, though because there are always people in there, always, always. It's a great place to get a beautiful flower or two if you're en route to a dinner.
Happy holidays Ming!
I hope you have a wonderful 2009.
I LOVE D & D. Used to go there all the time while I was living in DC. :)
He has poor posture!! Horrid!
I'm addicted to my iPhone and check my e=mail several times a day.
