A little boutique in Nolita (North of Little Italy) has found an interesting way to advertise its merchandise. They placed a mannequin wear a little black dress and a beautiful necklace right on the street in front of the store. A lot of people who had no prior intention of going into the store stopped to admire and touch the merchandise on the street. Then they wander into the store to take a better look at the clothes.

This one... Nice shot!
un beau modèle, simple et belle photo
Smart idea. Very chic mannequin
I hope she was bolted to the sidewalk.... sometimes these things mysteriously grow legs and walk away!
I love the 3 girls in the background. Good shot Ming. THey look like they are discussing the mannequin. Smart marketing technique if it doesn't grow legs like Shammickite said.
I need some smart ideas. Fresh out!

Great merchandising! Very trusting store owner.

Clever ...
Virgina... one of those girls in the background looks like she can use a shave
Surprisingly, nobody ran off with the mannequin. :-)
I'm not saying it won't happen but Nolita is a fairly nice part of town so I think it's fairly safe to say the mannequin is safe right now.
What strikes is the simple elegance of the dress. Just wonderful and of course a good idea.
What a fantastic idea! And I love that you captured the people in the background too! :o)
Cool idea for getting extra foot fall.
That one is the smartest idea I've heard lately. The dumbest idea I've heard lately is one I've inferred from a photo: the Obama administration seems curious about Jimmy Carter's thoughts on various issues. You might as well ask a crazy homeless person; he has as good a chance of providing sound advice as Carter does.
That's pretty clever! I guess tough economic times call for creative business solutions!
that seems like an easy target for thieves
Good marketing.
