Otafuku NYC

This is the front entrance to a tiny (and I mean TINY) Japanese take-out restaurant called Otafuku in the East Village. There are only three items on the menu: okonomiyaki (Japanese style savory pancake), takoyaki (octopus balls) and yakisoba (stir-fried noodles). Customers can mix and match any combination of two of the above items for less than $5. Now, that's cheap eats.

So have you eaten octopus before?

No Sushi

I saw this sign posted outside a Japanese tea cafe on Thompson between Spring and Bloome Street in SoHo. Apparently the manager of the cafe was tired of telling diners that they don't serve sushi there. I thought it was hilarious.

So do you eat sushi or do you prefer your food cooked?

Dinner Menu

This is the dinner menu at a closet size Japanese restaurant in the East Village called, Otafuku. The only seating available here is a bench leaning against the outside the restaurant window. Despite its size, it is a favorite place among the NYU students and adventureous diners to grab some take-out dinners here.

So what and where is your favorite take-out dinner?
