This photo was taken at the Lieutenant Petrosino Square in Nolita (North of Little Italy) where the The Ring Dome stucture was installed last month. Corona, the Mexican beer brand, must have sponsored the event or paid for the tables and chairs at the square because of the advertisements on the chairs.
Recently, the New York City health department started cracking down on bar tenders who used their bare hands to put line wedges on the top of Corona beer bottles, which is how Corona are usually served. Supposedly, bar tenders are required to use a pair of tongs or gloves to handle ready-to-eat items. This caused an uproar among bar tenders who have been serving lime wedges bare handed for many years without any government intervention.
So what kind of beer do you like most? Do you have a favorite brand?

Incidently, my favourite brand of beer is Corona!
Love the abstract composition here
- and the story about Corona
- and the story about the lime wedges (what else next???)
I don't drink beer. I'll have a fruit juice, thanks!
Corona is the favourite drink of our former president Chirac... and Nicolas S deosn't drink alcohol at all! A shame for French presidents, who should be (modest) wine consumers and promoters!!
I concentrate mor on wine than beer, but a Belgian Leffe, an Irish Kilkanny or, if I'm really thirsty, an Australian Foster is nice now and then!
I love just Corona and Guinness and Tennent (lager). U?
my favourite brand is Paulaner and 1664.
Am not really a beer drinker and cannot differentiate a good beer and a better beer. I do enjoy most German pale ale and lager. Nothing too strong for me should be ok :P
I am not a good Belgian: I do not like beer very much. Once in a blue moon I fancy a chilled Kriek with a simple tartine au fromage blanc et petits radis. Add a warm summer night and outdoor setting, plus good company to the mix.
NB: I am taking names - all those who promoted Belgian beers get special brownie points, the others... they probably have not tried them yet. ;)
I like Corona, its a beer that reminds me of summer. I also always want a lime or lemon wedge in it. BUT when I go to a bar, I don't want any because its always looking crappy on the counter... Anyway, I don't go out anymore :(
Shiner Boch! Ever tried it? it is good stuff and made here in Shiner Texas a little German town not far from Austin
I like this shot. Are there gold footprints in the background?
I am not sure how I feel about seeing a bartender with gloves... makes me feel like I am at the dentist!
As for favorite beer, maybe Grolsh... I was in the Netherlands when I was younger so this was the first beer I ever had. Guess I took a shining to it :)
