The closest shop to my apartment is this fabulous Irish grocery store called, The Butcher Block that is about half a block from me. It carries all the regular items found in a grocery store plus a wonderful hot deli counter (daily menu listed on the middle window) and a selection of European imported food products.

that must be so great to have a good store so close. nothing is close here! It sounds like quality.
Fabulous! Did you try the black pudding? And the white pudding? I have no clue what that is but it just intrigues me. Happy Theme Day, Ming!
I'll bet I could get a delicious hot pastrami sandwich here! Lucky you, so close to this place!!
I've never seen an Irish grocery store before!
I see Sunday's Special is Penne alla Vodka - my favourite! Hmmm....today is Sunday....maybe I'll make my own?
Oh, I'll take the lamb shish kabob please, curbside. Lucky you, Ming.
Happy Theme Day!

And have you ever tried black pudding ???
Now I know it must be time for lunch.
love from mandy
Sounds like a really good place to stop by. I like the name, too.
Paz
I like the idea of advertising your wares before you get in. They do that here at a local hot spot restaurant. You can walk in the lobby and look at the blackboard to see what was cooked and either go in or leave. And some people leave.
And you can ever be a heros! What could you ask for more?
Now that is the best reason to live in the city!! I would love to be able to walk to a place like that!
For theme day, I'm showing a bit of my former store (since it fits the bill) if you're interested. . .
Try the rashers, there's nothing better than Irish bacon.
Just the facade makes me hungry. Where is this - on 41st St. near Queens Blvd. or down 43rd Ave. a bit? Nothing like that in my neighborhood.
I'm so happy I'm not tempted by this corner market---everything listed looks so fattening!
Blimey they do sell everything! Glad you have seen SATC. I noticed there was a big Vivienne Westwood influence in the film with the wedding dress and also the fashion show. The fella kept doing his Steve impression everytime he was on screen! Bless hehe!
A great photo, I'm jealous
Great photo for Theme Day. Whatever you do don't try black pudding! Its made from pigs blood and is horrible (in my opinion!)
Ming, . . .and THEY DELIVER! How cool is that?! Where else are you going to find Black Pudding, too? Sounds like a great place to pop in for lunch fixin's.

Ming..Nice menu selections ...Many years ago, we vacationed in New York the whole summer, staying in the (much nicer than now) Chelsea area...I fondly remember the local deli...Italian owned and operated...wonderful food.....
I just know your having a good weekend...Dee Dee
Marley is right. Black, red or white pudding is vile. What is London Broil? I noticed corned beef, but do they have corned beef hash? It looks like the kind of place my partner wouldn't be able to tear himself away from. Great post.
I see the word spare ribs! Haha.. that word makes me salivate! LOL.
yes, I am such a glutton!
Happy Theme Day Ming!
il y a beaucoup de choix dans ce magasins, cela donne envie.
there are many choices in the shops, it makes you want.
Love the photo, but I stay away from those butchers!
Oh great shot, Ming. Love this choice for Theme Day.
