Weekend in New Jersey 3

Seagulls make the one of the most annoying noises I've ever heard in my life -- almost as annoying as car alarms going off outside my apartment window at 3 AM in the morning.

What annoys you most?

Bird in a Gilded Cage

This little bird is trapped inside a gilded cage, otherwise known as The Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan. The 4-storey high atrium/space has shops and restaurants and somehow, this bird got itself trapped inside it. A lady placed some bread crumbs on the railing and the bird swiftly flew down to gobble them up. I only managed to get one good shot of this event.

So have you ever been in a beautiful place but still felt trapped?

A Bird in the Bush...

This photo would have been perfect for Christmas Day but it was taken yesterday morning. I was less than 3 feet (1.5 meters) away but the bird ignored me and continued eating red berries from the holly bush while I took over a half dozen photos of it. It was probably thinking, "How rude!"

So do you think it is rude to take photos of people (or animals) while they are eating?

Sea Gull @ Hell's Gate

Here is another photo taken at Hell's Gate in Astoria. The sea gull in this photo is used to having humans around it. It shifted its body a few times to show some discomfort but at no time did it try to fly away as I approached it with my camera. In fact, after shooting a half dozen or so frames, I walked by it and the bird completely ignored me.

I was quite offended!! Apparently, this human isn't threatening enough.
