Old Chairs

I am always fascinated at how some people can make old things, like these chairs, look so cool and appealing again. An artist friend of mine always managed to find interesting pieces of broken furniture left on the street, take them home and turn them into beautiful useable items in her apartment.

The last time I spotted something on the street, picked it up and put it in my pocket was when I found a beautiful, black, smooth river stone in Union Square.

Tables & Chairs

These tables and chairs are located at Bryant Park behind the New York City Public Library where many locals and tourists alike come to relax and enjoy the scenery or simply to access the free wi-fi connections available here. During the winter season, the park is converted into an ice skating rink and twice a year, giant tents are erected to host the New York Fashion Week.

Even though this is one of the more beautiful parks in the city, I rarely come here because it is not on my regular commuting route or near any place where I would normally shop or eat dinner.

Chairs Or Art?

It was late Sunday night and all the stores at the food court in Grand Central Station have closed for the evening. Only a dozen or so people were still lingering around waiting for their trains to arrive. I was on my way home, walking to the subway terminal located inside the Grand Central Station.

I saw this interesting sight -- chairs neatly stacked on top of the tables. It got me wondering. Did someone with an artistic flair put it together or was the person a little obsessive compulsive? Or is this just a routine way of stacking chairs on top of the table? I admit, I have never seen anything like this before. What do you think?
