Oh golly gee! I'm running out of photos to post (again). The freezing weather and busy schedule have left me little time to go out and take new photos so here is an old one from the archive. This musical quintet provided the 'Indian theme' music to the Ports 1961 fashion show last week.

This guy didn't let a broken foot cramp his style while waiting for someone on the steps in front of Bryant Park. I loved the way he propped his crutches together to make a temporary rest for his foot.

New York Fashion Week: The Editors

This photo was taken yesterday afternoon at the Ports 1961 show at Bryant Park. The woman with sunglasses on is none other than Anna Wintour, the most feared woman in all of NYC. She is the person who inspired the character in "The Devil Wears Prada".

So who were you most afraid of when you were younger?

New York Fashion Week: The Tent

This is the front door to the New York Fashion Week tents at Bryant Park. Inside the tents are four large showrooms with lots of spot lights, catwalks and pretty models. This is the final year the shows are being held here. Next season, it will move uptown to Lincoln Center.

So do you consider yourself a fashionable person?

Mid-Month Subway Theme

This is one of the subway entrances to the B, D, F, V and 7 trains at Bryant Park on 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. The white tents in the background are where the New York Fashion Week shows are being held this week.

How Cold Was It?

I was at Bryant Park yesterday afternoon because it is New York Fashion Week. I saw this pretty young girl wrapped in layers because of the cold, windy weather. I asked if I may take her photo and she nodded.

Ice Rink @ Bryant Park

This is The Pond at Bryant Park, an free ice skating rink on 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. It is one of three ice skating rinks in the city -- the other two are at the Rockefeller Center and Central Park.

So when was the last time you ice skated?

Lunch Time @ Bryant Park

This photo was taken at Bryant Park last Wednesday during lunch time. Everyone seemed to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather, including me.

So how is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Pretty Girl

This beautiful girl is a host of a Russian fashion TV show, I think. She taped a series of segments in front of Bryant Park with a small crew (director, makeup person and camera man) and spoke in a language that I could not recognize. I knew it wasn't French, Spanish or Italian. No, I don't speak all those languages but I can identify them if I listened long enough.

So how many languages do you speak?

The Devil Wears Prada

This is Anna Wintour, the Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue and one of the most influential people in US fashion. She has a reputation of being a tough boss who insisted that junior staffers not speak to her unless they are spoken to first. The book and movie, The Devil Wears Prada was written by one of Anna Wintour's former junior assistant and the plot was (allegedly) based on author's experience working at Vogue.

If you were to write a memoir or a novel, what would it be about?

NB: Sorry for the cut-off-at-the knee photo of Anna Wintour. She came out of the tent at Bryant Park and dashed into a waiting Mercedes. I was lucky to get this photo because she DOES NOT stop for photos.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009

New York Fashion Week began last Friday and will run through till next Sunday. Yesterday evening, I attended the Anna Sui runway show at Bryant Park courtesy of a friend who knows someone who works for Anna Sui -- talk about networking, huh?!? Because of the low light inside the tent, most of my photos didn't come out great. I gave up after a dozen or so shots and decided to just enjoy the show instead.

So do you network much? I'm not good with network and meeting new people especially in a crowd. I do better one-on-one.

New Lawn at Bryant Park

This photo was taken a couple weeks ago after Bryant Park had laid down new sods on the ground. There were signs everywhere requesting the public to stay off the lawn. Everyone appeared to respect the signs because nobody was on the lawn.

So do you always obey the law? What kind of offenders annoy you most? I really despise litterbugs and people who deface public properties.

Ming the Peeping Tom

This photo is the result of one of many experiments I did with my little point-and-shoot camera. I love the movie In The Mood For Love, which was filmed to resemble someone watching a story unfold through open windows or behind street corners. So this was my attempt to explore that feeling of "peeping from behind the trees" via photography.

So what or who inspires you?

Bryant Park II

This photo was taken last weekend at around 7PM just as the sun has set and a dark glow was beginning to take over the city. I especially love to take photos at this time of the day because the photos always come out with a lovely blue hue. I read somewhere that the best time to take photos are an hour after the sun rises and an hour before the sun sets before the sun casts shadows on the floor.

Tables & Chairs

These tables and chairs are located at Bryant Park behind the New York City Public Library where many locals and tourists alike come to relax and enjoy the scenery or simply to access the free wi-fi connections available here. During the winter season, the park is converted into an ice skating rink and twice a year, giant tents are erected to host the New York Fashion Week.

Even though this is one of the more beautiful parks in the city, I rarely come here because it is not on my regular commuting route or near any place where I would normally shop or eat dinner.

Do you have a favorite park near your city? How often do you visit it?

Fashionable Bike

This photo was taken a couple weeks ago during New York Fashion Week. It was one of a number of bikes that have been spray painted in neon orange and parked all over the city. What ai love about this one is that someone added a fringed scarf around the handle. How cute is that?

Red Hair Is The New Black

This beautiful lady was handing out free stockings to guests at the New York Fashion Week. When I asked for permission to take her photo, she graciously posed for me. And NO, I didn't get a free pair of stockings.

So guess who I saw at the New York Fashion Week on Sunday afternoon? It was Scott Schuman or The Sartorialist. He was gracious enough to let me take his photo. And he has a really nice camera with him.

New York Fashion Week vs. Super Bowl

New York Fashion Week is here again. The twice annual event at Bryant Park showcases the latest fashion by over 100 designers for Fall 2008. Here is a photo of the entrance to the show tents.

I apologize for the tardiness of today's post. After spending the afternoon shooting photos outside the tents of New York Fashion Week followed by a Super Bowl party in Brooklyn, I finally got home after midnight. When I tried to post a photo, blogspot was acting up so I gave up and went to bed instead.

So if you had to choice of attending the New York Fashion Week at Bryant Park or the Super Bowl game in Arizona, which would you pick?
