This is the Literary Walk, one of the most photographed paths in Central Park because of the straight line and surrounding trees on both sides. At the north end of the path is the Bethesda Fountain, another popular site.

Central Park Walk

This is the foot path leading to the Literary Walk from 5th Avenue. The naked trees will be sprouting leaves in the next month or so when Spring arrives. It will turn the landscape into a different color.

So where do you like to go for a walk?

A Line of Orange Cups

This photo was taken on Sunday afternoon when the weather (finally) warmed up a little. The guys here were lining up to rollerblade around the orange cups and most of them made it without knocking over any of them.

So how good are you at rollerblading or rollerskating?

Naumburg Bandshell

This is the inside view of the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. The structure, built in 1923, is located at the end of the Literary Walk near the 72nd Street entry to Central Park off of 5th Avenue. Musical performances are held here throughout the year for the public.

Snowy Central Park

New York City saw its first snow storm for the season yesterday and I went out to Central Park after (a hearty) breakfast to shoot some photos. This photo was taken just as the snow stopped and you can see a lot of young couples were out for a walk and enjoying the weather.

Literary Walk at Central Park

On Wednesday, I posted a new photo of the Central Park benches that were located at the Literary Walk. Here is the follow-up photo to the Literary Walk, which stretches from 66th Street to 72nd Street. At the end of this path are The Mall (a public square, not a shopping mall), the Bethesda Fountain and the Boathouse Restaurant.

If you are visiting New York City and have only an hour or so to see Central Park, this is the place to go. It is probably the most beautiful and popular places to visit in the park. To get here, take a taxi or the bus to the 72nd Street and 5th Avenue entrance and walk west into the park. You will see The Mall and the Bethesda Fountain after a short 10 minutes' walk.

Central Park Benches 4

Last month, I posted a three-photo series on Central Park's benches - on April 15, April 16 and April 17. Personally, I am fascinated by these benches because they are so different and yet so similar. A lot of the different designs and materials used are based on when they were installed in the park.

Here is another set of benches lining both sides of the Literary Walk in Central Park. These are pretty old they are made almost entirely of wood and brass (or iron). The walk stretches for 6 blocks from 66th Street to 72nd Street. It is one of the most photographed scenes of Central Park.
