BAMN! is a new retro East Village eatery that was styled after an automat from the 1930s and 40s. The automat was a precursor to the candy and soda machines that we see everywhere today. Basically, it is a fast food restaurant that serves simple food items like burgers, fries, chicken wings, hotdogs, etc. through a coin-operated vending machine window.The automat was immortalized in the Doris Day movie, The Touch of Mink as well as other movies made in the 40s through 60s. Unfortunately, the popularity of automats died with the arrival of drive thru' restaurants and other fast food joints.

I love the colors in the room!!! I can't think of any place around here in SL that looks even remotely similar. Great photo!!

The food tastes pretty much like regular fast food fares.
Using the automat is definitely fun.....for like 30 seconds until you realized you have to fish for change in your pocket just to feed the machine. :-)
However, there is a coin machine at the store but that's another step you'd to take to get to your food.
Incidentally, the place is packed all the time. People stand around eating their purchases because there is no place to sit. What you see in the photo IS the restaurant.
Opps! I neglected to say there is a small window to the left (hidden from view) that dispenses soda and fries.

HAHAHA! I know but the press release for BAMN! said their food are thrown out after 60 minutes in the automat.
But yeah, it's fast food; ie. everything fried.
