Shoe Shopping in SoHo

"I spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live. I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!" cried Carrie Bradshaw, the shoe-addicted New York character in Sex & the City.

New Yorkers love their shoes. But
comfortable shoes are paramount to the New Yorker who walks a lot. Good looking shoes are a must for the fashion conscious New Yorker. So where does one go to find a pair of comfortable yet, good looking shoes?

This photo was taken inside Camper, a Spanish brand shoe store in SoHo. I was trying on some shoes when I looked up and saw this interesting vantage point -- roughly 3 feet (1 meter) from the floor. I love the coordinated colors inside the giant overhead lamps and the walls.

Do you have a favorite pair of shoes?

Shoe shopping in such fancy places??? I still lace up my out of style 10 hole steel toed Dr. Martens on an almost daily basis.

Great photo! I love shoes and am in search of the perfect all around casual stylish but comfortable shoe. I have a few that fit the category - a pair from Diesel and another from Rocket Dog. They are tennis shoe types but with more style.

tanty & felicia - Camper makes really great looking walking shoes.

pcfranchina - I had a pair of Dr. Martens in college during my "rebel without a cause" phase. :-) Now, I'm just a dandy yuppie.

delta - I have a pair of water/snow resistant Timberland high top boots for the winter weather.

olivier - merci pour vos commentaires.

Great lighting in the photo - and I would love a pair of those boots with a lavander ribbon!

Ming, you gave me such a belly laugh when you asked if the alligator photo was taken at the zoo! You are such a New Yorker!!!!
(the answer is: no, it was in my back yard. Here in SW Florida we have ponds and canals filled with them! Come and visit!)

Great photo! I used to be a Manhattan-ite, but for nearly 16 years I am a Maui-ite! I traded my Jimmy Choo's for flip flops! :-) Happy New Year!

Keropokman - Goex is starting to get popular in the last year or so. Timberland was always popular so much so that it is no longer hip to wear Timberland. Stupid, I know!!

Kuanyin - Flip-flops in Maui sound amazing.

Sometimes it's about comfort like wearing Rockports, and not about "hip". haha..
