Snow Storm III

New York City received another dousing of winter storm yesterday, as did most of the northeast region of the country. This time around, however there were more sleet than snow falling from the sky. The ice pellets flying in the wind felt like a sand storm in the dessert.

This photo, taken yesterday, shows a gentleman using a snow plough to clean the sidewalk on the street. The cars parked on the curb will be covered with thick layers of snow soon.

The sleet is no fun, but maybe you got to go out and play in the snow anyway.

Brrrrrrr. My friend in Ohio told me you'd had snow - she did too. Well New York is beautiful, whatever the weather. Super photo - so much movement in it.

Oh, oh... that's another good reason (though I love NYC) to live in Lisbon... :))

Well, I am glad you guys got it instead of us. It is cold here and ice in the water froze solid.

Hey Ming, this is too cold for March! uh?
My brother is going to New York first week of April, I hope weather is going to be better for him! he lives in Canary islands so he's used to warm weather... oh poor him!
Have a great weekend there! :)

It's sunny and 70-ish today in Louisiana! It might get cold tonight though...near 60. (heh)

We're gettin ready to take the dogs for a bike ride down the riverfront-levy to Forsythe park. Perhaps even catch a barge and crewboat slowly making its way down the Ouachita River.

And surely there will be the occassional old man lazily casting his fishing line prefrentially wasting the day away.

Oh, and I bet Colt will be out with his two black-lab doggies tossing the worn duck decoy as part of his never ending canine training regimine.

Probably watch the soccer teams practice too.

And don't forget about the large park swings. Never hurts to throw your head back, close your eyes, swing as high as you can, and soak up the warm rays of fresh spring sunshine. (wonder if that comes in a spray?)

Do you hear that? YES! It's nothing less than the air-splitting cracks of old wooden baseball bats in nearby Brendal Field amidst the occassional eruption of kids laughing and playing.

Aren't you guys ready for summer yet?

Ha.

oh this looks really freezing, but still beautiful.
(One of my happiest memories is of walking with my husband up through Central Park in heavy heavy snowfall (in Jan 2003, I think) - it was wonderful, the whole city was hushed and the snowflakes were the biggest I've ever seen. ...)

Snow plowing is a good activity for the "city that never sleeps". Those machines make noise!

Sorry the snow didn't pass you by.

Snowstorm again? Already sweating here in California!

How nice of you to say 'a gentleman cleaning the street' rather than just 'a man' - I believe in politeness.

Having said that, I don't find the machine very nice for the cars parked there. I know the snow needs to go somewhere, but...
