Central Park: Benches III

I hope you guys are not tired of looking at park benches yet. I promise, this is the last one of the series for a long time. These benches are probably the newest batch in Central Park. Notice how they are ergonomically designed to support the backs of the sitters as they sit down to relax.

Older benches, like the ones I posted yesterday do not have any backings and are probably not as comfortable as these newer ones.
I wasn't even thinking about comfort factor when I took these photos until Belinda of Perth, Australia and Angela of Nice (France) Daily Photo mentioned it. Thanks ladies, for alerting me to the issue.

The twin towers in the background are the new Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, which is located at the south west corner of Central Park.

I like the angle of this photo...it makes the photo more interesting! In answer to your question, we just feed our birds Costco bird seed...we buy large boxes of it.

Ok Ming...I enlarged my latest photo to 640 as you counseled Alice, but I see no options for the Stretch Minima anywhere! Help me out here, ok? Check out the photo I just downloaded in honor of you! :-) It's larger, but not as large as I want!

It's interesting to me to see the interest many people have in a utilitarian object such as benches. Very smooth looking ones today. PS. The word, twin towers, still sends shivers up my spine!

I totally agree with Kate about "twin towers"... I love benches and I love to sit in a park time on time so often I consider how they aren't comfortable. I'm happy to read how the last are ergonomics !!!

P.S. thank you of your email about Planetarium ;-)

I was gobsmacked by the view from the lounge/lobby bar of the Mandarian Oriental in the Time Warner Centre......completely mesmerised by the twinkling lights. NY is spectacular.

Hope you're enjoying some down time on those park benches during your photo visits!

park benches in cooler climate countries always reminds me of cold seats! yikes!

you sit on them and the cold cold sensation goes up your body. so diff when you are in asia, where it is ouch! so hot!

the tunnel vision photo 2 days ago is nice!

the only bench i know really well in central park is the one dedicated to Madeleine Kahn up by the SW entrance to the Reservoir. I know that one because I always use that bench to stretch my hamstrings when i'm running up there.

What will be the fait of these benches? In Stockholm they would instantly be subject to all sorts of vandalism. Same story in the Big Apple?
