Hairless Dog

I saw this hairless dog at the downtown street fair a couple weeks ago. It received a lot of curious stares including a couple of "Ewwwww!"s from the kids. The dog demeanor was very nervous and jittery like a chihuahua but it is about the size of a Jack Terrier.

The owners told me the dog was specifically bred for its hairless qualities. Have you seen anything like this before? This was my first time.

Ohhh man lucky it's going to be summer or else I think the dog must be freezing...

I've heard of a breed of hairless cats, but have never seen any. This is my first time hearing about a hairless dog. "Nervous and jittery" don't sound so appealing to me. I suppose in the winter in NY one has to be very careful about providing appropriate "clothing" for such a dog.

Yes, I have seen hairless dogs and cats. Actually they got hair much like we do on our bodies. It is very short. I think we would all look odd if suddenly we woke up some morning with our hair grown out like a sheep dog.

Interesting photograph. I love dogs so this is a nice picture too.

I have some good news:

The three baby robins are on their way to Meet the World. I miss them already. It was quite an emotional experience.

Ming, this poor pooch looks like an over sized rat!
We love dogs to bits here in this house and I'm afraid this dog will catch a cold! Poor thing.

my first time too! And uf, i don't really like...

Ming i've read your comment on my B/W photo, I took the photo in colour and edit it like that before. I rarely took B/W photos because you can make the B/W effect later but not add the real colours in a computer uh?
And I posted that photo on B/W because i find the result quite interesting. And I didn't have any B/W until that of saturday! :)

Hairless qualities, eh?

Given my nonexistent coiffure I suppose I for one should refrain from commenting on that one.

I like dogs but not hairless one like this. It just looks weird to me. Will this dog grow bigger in size ? Think there's a breed of dogs (forgot name of breed, but of a bigger size than this)that is hairless too, except for some strands of hair at the forehead, above the eyes. Can you already imagine it's weird ?

Looks like a Xolo to me. I have a Xolo and an American Hairless Terrier. There is nothing wrong with hairless dogs. They are great for people with allergies. Get with the program people. These are sturdy, healthy dogs. Once you go naked, you sure don't want some smelly, fuzzy, furry thing stinking up your house!!!!

That could be a Xolo or a Peruvian Hairless Dog (Inca Orchid). I have a PHD medium size(there are 3 different sizes). Its the best dog Ive ever had. They are friendly, warm and they dont smell!!!

Hairless dogs are becoming more popular for people with allergies. The most common is the Chinese Crested Dog. If you would like to see more pics, you can sse some of my crew at www.rockinm-crested.com.

Yeah my boyfriend has two hairless cats. The funny thing is that the male cat (they have two a girl and a boy both siblings) has grown a bit of hair for some reason. Its coming off now since its becoming summer. This is my first time seeing a hairless dog.
