A lot of you asked me about the tree in yesterday's photo. Here is a close-up of the tree with the green buds growing out of its branches. It is definitely an odd looking tree. Does anyone know what kind it is?

Ginko trees are all over the city, aren't they? Such old and sturdy trees, they should be honored by one and all.
I think definitely a Ginko!
I agree with the consensus that it's a ginko tree. They are also pretty in the fall when they turn yellow. You'll have to show us another shot then!
Lovely photo. I agree - the leaves look like a ginko. It's the oldest living tree species. A wonderful beautiful tree.
Not a clue. Life takes many shapes. And spring is all about life.
It's gorgeous. No clue what it is. My dad would know, though. He's into horticulture and trees and plants.
i have absolutely no idea!
