Hydrangea Blooms

I was out in the city this afternoon and saw a hydrangea bush outside a building. Not all the blooms have opened yet and I noticed this particular batch has three stages of growth. There are the little buds and new blooms in the middle the fully open flowers on the edges.

I love hydrangeas especially the pale green colored ones. I also love parrot tulips and bourganvilleas. But for beautiful aroma, nothing beats the scent of peonies.

What are your favorite flowers?

Great job. In Japan hydrangea is at bloom now and the blue and purple one is rather popular here.

It's nice to take the time to see the stages of the blooming process. For their scent, I think lilacs and lily of the valley and jasmin are my faves. At least at this moment in time. :-)

Beautiful flowers and the color is stunning. I posted a flower that is similar in color this morning too.

My favorite flower depends on the season. It certainly is not the T-roses everyone is in love with. I guess it would have to be one of the simpler, older, flowers, perhaps like the cleome I posted today.

Wishing you the best of both worlds.

woow great dark blue color. here in Holland the blue color will stay for just one year after that year it will turn pink. Mine favorite flower is the Kirensghoma a shadow plant with some yellow flowers. Mine garden is manly green with grasses and bananaplants!!!!

Gorgeous photo! My favorite flowers are the most fragrant: lilacs, paperwhite narcissus, old-fashioned roses (not those beautiful but scentless modern hybrids), wisteria, jasmine, buddleia, gardenia, freesia, lily of the valley; all the flowers used to make the finest perfumes.

Hey Ming, what a gorgeous photo of a hydrangea, Love the color. I used to have a bush or two when we lived in a house with a garden.
My favourite flower at the moment is the Orchid. I love Oriental Lilies the best, but the scent is a little over powering. Having fresh flowers in the house everyday is a luxury that I indulge myself in.

We have toyed with this name (in French) for my daughter but we dropped it - too long with the last name. My favourite flower is lillies.

Those little buds look almost edible. I like the pastel shade.

What beautiful colours you have captured here ! My favourite flower in France used to be lilac, which I have never seen in Australia, but I also love ancient roses which drop their petals everywhere and have a divine scent.

That's a super picture Ming. I read somewhere that iron filings in the soil will turn the blooms blue but it's probably an old wives tale. I have a bush in fronf of my house that has pale whitish/green blooms, possibly because it doesn't get much light.
My favourite flower? I think Daffodils. So yellow and bright and they mean that winter is finally over!
