Manicured Lawn

I saw this gentleman mowing the lawn and was so intrigued with the beautiful lines on the grass that I took a photo of it. I think it takes some skills to do it so neatly. If it was I moving that lawn, you would find patches of grass and bald spots all over the place.

Mowing the lawn was one of my least favorite chores when I was a kid. That is why I prefer to live in an apartment. The janitor and gardener take care of everything inside and outside the building. I wish I have a maid too. I hate dusting and vacuuming as well. But I don't mind doing the dishes or the laundry. Anyone interested in swapping chores?

What is your least favorite chore around the house?

Je trouve le titre bien trouve. Comme beaucoup de monde j'aime pas les corvées de la maison, mais bon....celle que je deteste le plus c'est de faire la poussiere, et comme j'ai des tonnes de livres, de disques et de dvd ;o)

I find the title well finds. As many people I do not like the drudgeries of the house, but good….that that I hate more is to make dust, and as I have tons of books, discs and of dvd ;O)

Hey Ming, I think you need an in-house cook too, what do you think?!!
I've never used one of these mowers before but I always thought it was as straight forward as driving and you didn't need a skill to work this thing? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey Ming, everytime 'True' by Spandau Ballet comes on, I still feel a tingle run down my spine. It will always be my favourite song of all time!

Used to have a country house with a much too big lawn - and in Normandy where grass really is growing! I sold the house.

I once visited friends just outside London and they had a perfect arrangement. They had arranged their lawn to have the shape of a perfect circle (with bushes in the corners). Then they put a pole in the middle of the lawn, linked it by a rope to the "cutting machine" and got it started. When the rope had made a complete number of tours around the pole, the grass was cut.

Wouldn't you just love to roll around on this perfect lawn? Or maybe follow the circles around whilst jogging?

Hmmm....I think I will roll around on the lawn!! :o)

I quite enjoy laundry, mainly because I'm very particular about how I hang the clothes on the line!! But also because all the clothes smell so yummy after a good wash.

I don't like ironing though - it's the worst :o(

I like your photograph of the man mowing the lawn. It is a nice picture of summer work.

My least favorite chore is cleaning the floors including sweeping, moping, and vacuuming. It takes forever and with the doggies, it's dirty again within hours.

Cool pic.

I absolutely LOVE to mow the lawn cos it looks so good when it's finished, and it's a great workout!!
But I HATE vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom, and stacking the dishwasher, and dusting the furniture, and.... well, let's face it, I hate all housework!
I like cooking cos The Space Cadet does all the dishes!!

Generally, I dislike all chores(including washing the dishes) other than cooking itself.

Ming, I do love my garden but I'd hate having to mow a lawn so I haven't got one.

As to chores in the house, I don't really like any of them. All chores strike me as a total waste of time cos anything you do, you have to do again. But least favourite. Well ironing is one but then I don't do it. I don't iron. end of story. I hate putting duvets into duvet covers. Hate that. How about dusting? Don't get me started. Yeah, I need a maid but then a maid would irritate me, I know that. I don't like people fiddling with my things. Oh dear what DOES that say about me?

There's something very calming about this photo and all that green makes you just want to have a picnic.

For the life of me I can't think of the term, but recently there has been a revival of ancient meditation circles in a spiral design. We have one in the campus behind us, and it's a pleasure to walk it when no-one is around. Household chores? I enjoy very little; dislike most except cooking and laundry, if I can hang the clothes on the line. I'd rather be travelling or blogging!!

Me, too, I wouldn't be patient enough to do it so nicely. (I've mown the lawn, too, today ...)

least favorite chore gosh I have so many! But I think it is laundry. Before I had my own washing machine and dryer I would go buy new clothes to keep from doing the laundry! I love mowing the lawn. it smells so good when it is freshly cut!

Oh! Very nice! I like this pic. I hate to do laundry. Which reminds me, I have laundry to do. Uggh! *sigh*

I sort of like all the chores - but then I don't do them all the time.

My husband likes to put those kinds of stripes in the lawn when he mows it. It's got to be a talent cause I sure couldn't keep the lines straight.

my least favorite is laundry, and not because i hate actually doing the laundry, but because i have to go to the laundromat to do it.

i actually enjoy doing loads of laundry, it's therapeutic in a way, esp watching your clothes spin.

and great picture, btw.

this photo is nice ; it made me think of the particular smell of the cutted grass.
the worst chore : taking down the garbage, but changing the cat's litter isn't really funny ...

I hate to clean my large windows and every time I do it (not too often...), you can be sure it's raining the day after! But I like to mown, my garden is a small one and after, all is neat and nice (in my opinion!). And it is not difficult at all to design these lines on the lawn, you just need a well sharpened blade!

actually i like mowing the grass. i love the smell of freshly cut grass. lovely!

we are lazy pple. while most pple in singapore hang their laundry, we just got ourselves dryers and chuck our clothes in the dryer!

we have to guess the time taken to dry clothes too, if guess incorrectly, it might shrink our clothes.

so we got a dryer with sensor that will stop when the desired dryness is achieve.

now i dont have doing laundry anymore! haha...

maybe i should get a dishwasher next!
