Bibimbop

This is Bibimbop, a popular Korean dish that I love and order every chance I get. It is basically a cold dish made with a mixture of raw and/or lightly stir-fried julienned vegetables, a fried (or raw) egg and ground beef (optional). And it is usually served with rice and some spicy sauce.

So can you identify the ingredients in the big bowl?

That looks good, haven't had bibimbop for years. I remember it as being hot, but maybe not.

How about zucchini, bean sprouts, mushrooms, cucumber, carrots, seaweed (??), red cabbage (again, ??), some greens, and an egg?

I do not know, but it makes you want. beautiful photo, you should make a guide photo on the dishes served in NYC.

Looks fantastic!!! You've put a spring in my step this morning Ming.

Just off to finish my bacon and large pot of 100% Rain Forest Alliance coffee in the Blue Mug as shown many months ago (I alternate the Blue and the Yellow one). Then it's away to "repair the unrepairable" at Ham House.

Oops, I was thinking of some other dish. I always mistake mung bean sprouts for noodles. ;D

Surely that's not bacon I see! Must be sliced mushrooms I am guessing. I have never had Korean food but this looks delicious. Great photo!

I think there's also some weird looking straw seaweed in there. If you didn't know what it was, you would have thought it was a worm or something. But it tastes like mushroom. Go figure!!

I've never tried this, although I've seen that on the menu a couple of times. I remember just because of the name which sounds so jazzy to me.

It's hard for me to choose what to eat when out in Ktown - the dolsot bibimbop, the casseroles, the dumpling soup.
