Unidentified Fried Chicken (UFC)

A couple weeks ago, New York Magazine did a story on Korean Fried Chicken (the new KFC) and Unidentified Fried Chicken (UFC) in Jackson Heights, Queens was listed as the best restaurant. So earlier this week, I stopped by UFC to get some Korean fried chicken take-out.

Here is a photo of the restaurant. I ordered the soy-garlic and the spicy mustard flavored chicken and they were delicious.

What is your favorite fast food?

Tootsie's burgers...they taste like as hamburger should. Tootsie's is a little independent here in Sequim.

We drive 60 miles for "Maid Rite" sandwiches. Loose meat, diced onions, pickles, mustard, pepper, on a bun.

personnellement je n'aime pas les fast-foods, je préfère les cafés et les sandwichs. Mais je sais pas si j'oserais manger des poulets extraterrestre ;o)

personally I do not like the fast-foods, I prefer the coffees and the sandwiches. But I do not know if I would dare to eat chickens extraterrestrial ;O)

We don't have fast foods in France except for McDonald's, which I don't like...read loathe!

I suppose you could call pizza places fast food and that I love provided it's freshly made at that moment.

Your Korean chicken tho sounds very tempting, Ming.

This place is so cute. I need to revisit Jakson Heights - I love to stroll there on the weekends, go to Patel Bros for some exotic veggies and eat a bite at Jackson Diner. Feels like a vacation. Now, a UFO, that's out of this world!

Fast food is not my thing. But, and I guess it could qualify as such, I love the sandwiches at Prêt-à-Manger. Very British, those triangles.

Tigerfish - Thanks for noticing the error. :-)

Seems a bit funny to name something edible "unidentified", but adding "fried chicken" helps. My favorite fast food is mexican: taco, tacoburger, enchilada, sancho, or burrito. Hot sauce or mild, with sour cream. Not healthy, but fast and tasty.

1. To answer your question, White Castle, hands down. See my post of August 1.

2. How very weird! I'd be a little nervous about unidentified chicken. What they put in White Castles is unidentified enough for me. Worrying about chicken provenance takes the fear to another level. Are the NYC food inspector in on this?

I'm a sucker for Popeye's catfish...not tremendously healthy but since it's about once a month, why not? Of course, there's also Paul's ribs (St Louis style)takeout around here that is to die for.

i loved the layout of New York magazine's article. i think they have some of the most innovative photography in the magazine world today.

and as for my favorite fast food, oh man i could go on and on for days listing that.

i am a fast food junkie. walking into a mcdonalds and not ordering something is like a crackhead going into a crackhouse and not doing crack! i'm just a fatty at heart.

I am quite fickle minded. I dont really like eating fast food, but once in a while you get the craving for unhealthy food. haha

Sometimes I like Carl's Jr, something Mcdonalds, and sometimes the ORIGINAL KFC.

Wish I could try the new KFC, kimchi flavoured? hmmm

I've heard about Kyocho Chicken's success in the US and it's my favourtie chicken delivery brand. I love its seasoning. It's interesting that they serve the same things as they do in their homelands, like refrigerator magnets.

OK, now I gotta go to Queens and eat at UFC.

My favorite fast food is the TLT wrap from Burritoville, a small, mostly in New York chain of Tex-Mex inspired food.

The TLT is a healthy twist on the classic bacon, lettuce & tomato sandwich (BLT) - it is tofu bacon, lettuce, pico de gallo & chipotle soy mayo on a flour tortilla. Yum!

When I was in Korea the US Soldiers called Kyo Cho Chicken "crack chicken". The Colonel had better be nervous!!!!
