Broadway Shows

These advertisements for Broadway shows at the Time Square subway station list some of the more successful shows playing in the city. The tickets to these shows are usually hard to come by because they are sold out weeks in advance. There are also many other less famous and cheaper productions of Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway shows that can be just as entertaining and fun.

So have you seen a musical or a play at your local theater lately?

I've gone to see "Cats" once. I normally don't go to these though.

I just saw "Wicked" touring in Boston last week! I wonder if it's the same as the one performed in NYC.

I would love to see a Broadway show!! Some day......

Just curious, what does a ticket to CHICAGO sell for in NY?

We attend at least one show a year (date night). We take the family to the Children's Theatre at least twice a year. Pippy Long Stocking was our favorite. Huck Finn was good also.

Once again, intersting post. thank you!

I haven't been to any live theatre recently, but we'll be going to an amateur production of La Cage Aux Folles when my UK visitors are here for my son's wedding in October. And for the past 10 years I've been in an annual amateur variety show production. I love live theatre.

Fay - The one in Boston is probably the same as the one in NYC. But with different actors playing the parts. Christine Chenoweth and Adina Manzel played the two witches in the NYC show.

Delightful-d - The prices of most Broadway shows range from $35 - $75, I think. But it depends on the popularity of the show and who are starring in it.

Haven't seen any lately but the one I like most is Le Miserables - love the props. Because I pay so much for the tickets I prefer to see shows with elaborate costumes. :) Weird rationale huh.

Well I could certainly spend seven nights a week on Broadway for a while.

The last time I saw a musical was "GG" about the life of actress Greta Garbo on our Stadsteatern. I even bought the CD with lots of good original music.

what's funny is that I grew up in NYC but have seen more plays here in Michigan and in other places than I have in NYC (probably only two or three in NYC.)

I've seen Rent six times, but only once in NYC.

I'm really not big on musicalls. I've seen a few of course but the formula gets old after a while. Someone dragged me to Mamma Mia - worst thing ever. I am much more a theater fan. Or a good concert. I actually have no excuses at all - I work in the TS area - I should pop at the theater box offices and enquire for SRO tickets.
