Faces From New York Fashion Week

Scott Schuman a.k.a. The Sartorialist

Glenda Bailey, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar

Grace Coddington, Creative Director of US Vogue

Jeanne Becker, Editor-in-Chief of FQ Magazine & Host of Fashion Television

Judy Licht, Host of Full Front Fashion

The only reason I recognize these faces is because I read A LOT of fashion magazines. But my favorite magazine is the New York Magazine. I anxiously wait for it to arrive every Monday and then immediately do the crossword puzzle found inside on the last page.

What is your favorite magazine or reading material?

HAHAHA! I know! I asked myself that when I saw them.

Lol! I wasn't going to say anything but I'm glad to see that Fenix did :-)

I love Jeanne Becker's handbag though.

Beautiful pictures and good week

Incredible how you manage to take these close ups... and how you recognize people!

My favourite reading in addition to books is a weekly satyrical - in newspaper format and without ads - called the "Canard Enchainé". Extremely well informed, and funny! All our politicians read it first thing on Wednesday morning, often worried...!

Great photos! Glad you explained how you recognized everyone, or I would really have felt out of it!

My reading is mostly for pleasure--I prefer fiction.

Grace needs some deep conditioning for her hair.

these pictures are so exciting for me....these are like my rock stars!

Did Scott sleep in his shirt?
And Glenda... that hair, really!! Get a new coiffeur.
I'm not into the fashion magazine scene, so I don't recognise these names.
My fave reading material? Fiction from the library, local newspaper so I can catch up on the gossip.

Amazing set of photographs. I thought about it for a moment and then decided that they look like "ordinary" people after all.

Yay!! A photo of "The Sartorialist" himself! Must be such a great atmosphere in NY at the moment.....actually, there's always a great atmosphere, so all the buzz created by Fashion Week would just make it even more amazing.

Vanity Fair is my fave, although it's pricey here in Oz ($10 or almost $20 for a current issue that's been air freighted direct from the US or UK!!)

Hey - did you ever finish reading "Vroom with a View"?

IMHO, these fashion people are eccentrics so they tend to be a little 'off-balance' or 'intentionally different' in order to stand out in the crowd.

I do love reading Vogue and I now have thing where if I go on holiday where they publish a Vogue I have to buy one. Yes I cant speak fluent Spanish or French but they are sooooo goood!

I love New York Magazine too. I am a happy subscriber. The first thing I rush to is the look book and the approval matrice. Then I have discovered on their website that in the restaurant section, they critique dissect one dish - there are little notes around the picture, like on Flickr (you move your cursor and you see the different ingredients of the dish).

Oh my goodness, I feel like I'm in the fashion scene all of a sudden.

The Vogue lady shouldn't look like a homeless woman if she works for THAT magazine!

LA Times (when I'm in California). Otherwise, Newsweek and Time!

I laughed a lot with those comments, Ming. I agree with most of them. I like to visit THE SARTORIALIST, but I would prefer if Scott Schuman post huge photos on his blog.

i'm with you. NY Mag is my favorite book.

I agree. what the hell is Grace Coddington wearing? Actually I had no idea who she was when I saw that pic. I would have never thought she worked for Vogue. I've been to the Conde Nast building many times, and even the secretaries look better than her.

i think the level of quality in Korean magazines surpass those of any other countries. from the paper quality, size, & editorial layouts, i love looking at Korean magazines.

every month i go to my local korean bookstore and pre-order GQ, ESQUIRE, VOGUE, and MEN'S HEALTH. i love collecting them, they're like books of art... but at $20 a pop. they're worth every penny tho.

Ming, my favorite books are mysteries, modern ones that end up in a series so that I can get to know the characters.

Right now, though, I'm reading Roy Blount Jr.'s "Long Time Leaving: Dispatches From Up South," much of which I find either thought-provoking, hilarious or both. He's a Georgian, I'm a Mississippian; it's a perfect fit.

I love the new york crossword (and jeanne beker). I anxiously await my WWD every morning and prefer time out to new york as well. I am cheap and dirty like that.

I am just wondering, how many different magazines do you buy or read every week?

I buy 4-5 magazines every month from Kinokuniya. I just love flipping them.
