I was in Greenwich Village this weekend and saw this colorful bicycle parked and secured to a sign post on the side of the street. Notice the missing seat from the bicycle; this is a common practice to discourage the bicycle from being stolen. It would make it very difficult to "ride" the bicycle without the seat if someone decide to steal it.
So do you know how to ride a bicycle? When as the last time you rode a bike?

Ming, have you seen Stockholm by pixels post? :)
A to your Q: a couple of days ago.
PS: You wanted to know what I made with those veggies I bought at the market. Go take a look. :)
Yeah, it does look like it would kind of be painful to get impaled on that seatless bicycle.
I learned to ride a bicycle on my 7th birthday. I got it as a present, and I learned to ride it in 2 hours!
elles sont belles et printanières.
Blather from Brooklyn nous avais montrer un velo tout en Metrocard, vraiment tres original
They are beautiful and spring.
Blather from Brooklyn we had to show a bicycle while Metrocard, really very original
hahaha a good idea to protect it from stealing taking the seat with you. I have cycled with a simular bike in Berlin. But i cycle everyday to my work. I live about five minutes from work : )
I never learned to ride a bike...how sad is that???
though I can kick some ass on a stationary bike.
(that's a lie, I am only mediocre)
Nice one, Ming. Really love this photo. Good idea to remove the seat so no one would steal it.
I've not gotten to ride a bike for years. Got me thinking...
Bad at riding bicycles. I thought some people can ride standing up, without the seat? :O
Always preferred four wheels to two wheels! Great idea to take the seat away...
Also loved the Taxi Art, the Ring Dome and the Lamps on Union Square!
Sorry for having been a bit absent lately, but I was abroad on a professional trip last week. One day I’ll probably show some pictures from an unusual destination...
Trying to recover some time, I’m posting on Germany (Koblenz, December 2005) on Blogtrotter.
Enjoy and have a great week!

Ah, you continue on the hippie theme. I put away my all black bike for the winter last weekend.
I would guess if it is common practice to take the seat then it might be common for thieves to carry a spare seat.
LOL! Yes, a missing seat would make it hard to ride. ;-) Haven't ridden a bike in ages.

What a cutie! I actually saw a car with those same flowers a few days ago.
When was the last time I rode my bike? A few weeks ago.
i think without seats is better not to ride this bike:)
Aren't you glad you saw this bicycle so that you could get this great photo? I certainly am.
And when Mama wakes up, I'll tell her what you said about my L is for Legs post on Oct. 10. I can guarantee you that she'll laugh and laugh!
