Black Friday

Today, the day after Thanksgiving, is known as Black Friday because it is the official start of the Christmas shopping season and retailers across the country are expecting to be raking in huge sales volumes and profits.

This photo taken from outside the Apple Cube structure on 5th Avenue between 59th and 60th Street shows the crowd inside the underground store. The new iPod nanos are on sale (today only) for US$136.

So have you bought anything at a sale recently?

oh Ming....that is one of my favorite stores. I bought a new macbook this summer when Apple's promotion included a $200 credit towards an ipod. So I upgraded from my old ipod mini to a new video ipod....it's cool.

Now all I need is an iphone.....if and when Verizon ever becomes a carrier.

Cool photo. That store is already pretty crowded every single day of the year. But they are very well organized. Bought anything?
As for me, if there is one day in the year when I absolutely avoid the stores, it's today. Apparently forecasts for today are not very rosy...

The only mass hysterical shopping day I was ever willing to participate in is the after Christmas sale for boxed cards. Shoot me - I simply love good paper :)

At the rate the dollar is dropping against the Euro - I hope that Friday was rosy red and not black.

they are not reducing the prices of apple products here, though yesterday my friend changed SGD to USD for 1.5 only!

Taking into account the euro-dollar rate it would make sense to fly to NYC for the after X-mas sales... I'll consider it, but don't think will find any time left; unfortunately... :(
Have a great weekend!

Tell us what YOU bought! Or did you observe 'Buy Nothing Day'? ;-)

Nope!! My family and I have agreed to try to keep the presents to a minimum this year; none of us need anything else cluttering up our apartments.
