Small plate cuisines have taken over the New York City culinary scene. None is as original as the Spanish tapas which are extremely popular here. This photo, taken at Boqueria in Chelsea, shows a tapa chef preparing various dishes in front of the hungry diners.
So have you ever tried the Spanish tapas?

Every time I visit Spain. I also love "pintxos" (PEEN-chos) their Basque Country counterparts.
Never had tapas in New York, though. How did you like Boquería tapas? Would you recommend that place?
I had Spanish tapas at a colleague's house over the holidays. She lives in the western suburbs of Boston. I loved the many textures and tastes . . . yum . . . she's from New Mexico and said she grew up with these foods.
i like yakitori-type restaurants
Now that you mention it, I don't think there's a restaurant in Little Rock that offers Spanish tapas.
It has been a long long long long time since I had any spanish food. Hmm... time to hunt for some of it!
Yes, we have in Belgium a tapas restaurant called the Poco Loco, and the tapas are delivered by the cook on a moving bar...like the sushi bars...
So it's kinda fun and the tapas are delicious.
Ming I wanted to thank thank you for linking my website on yours.
Thanks
a Paris, j'ai goute les "Spanish Tapas" et j'aime beaucoup. Mais en ce moment je dois faire attention, alors pas de "Spanish Tapas" ce weekend ;o)
Paris, I drop the "Spanish Tapas" and I like very much. But right now I have to be careful, so no "Spanish Tapas" this weekend ;o)
I ate tapas every Sunday morning when living in Basque country - over 30 years ago...! I must go and find some in Tokyo. I've seen a place called Tapas Tapas. I'll have to try it.
I sure have. Haven't tried Boqueria, but I like El Cid (reliable, West Side) and Pipa (Union Square, more trendy and more overpriced).
I love tapas! Unfortunately, we don't have many tapas bars in Nashville. My favorite were in Barcelona, of course, but there's a great place in Dallas, too.
I only had tapas once and it was in Boston. I loved it though! Your photo is great. That looks like a fun place and very lively!
Of course I love tapas and we can get them all over the place in Europe. Paris is full of tapas bars. When I first visited Spain a long time ago, it was a cheap way of eating, allowing you to forget about lunch and dinner; no it's getting a bit expensive. I visted a place in Seville which pretends to be the place where tapas were invented, some two or three hundred years ago. I should have one or two photos in my archives.
love this restaurant, great for lunch too.
I tried tapas in a cute little restaurant in Cambridge, MA....and I loved the small plates. Gotta put this one on my list. Thanks for the recommendation.
I'v enever tried real tapas but even my local pub does the small plate thing!
I wish they had tapas bars on Maui. I love them!
