Apple Store in SoHo

The first Apple Store in NYC was this SoHo branch. Architecturally, it is a beautiful store. But I remember feeling a little queasy navigating the translucent staircase for the first time because I have a mild fear of height. The newer stores have similar designs and the staircases are supposedly even more transparent than this one.

So do you have a phobia?

I too have a fear of heights. I couldn't climb the Great Wall of China because of it, so it's making me miss out on some amazing experiences. Any ideas on how we overcome this phobia Ming?? :o(

I have a fear of falling. I think that the steps would bother me a bit because they would all run together.

I love Apple, by the way. I have 2 Dells right now, but I am going to get a MacBook in the near future. I wish our Apple Stores were this cool.

Nice store shot. I would like to see a real store or walk into one just once but none are in my area. This one looks very nice.

I have a phobia of transparant staircases and dirty old men peering up at my undergarments.

How timely! We just went to the Ginza Apple store today to look at the new Air Mac. The Ginza shop isn't as fancy as this one.

No phobias but I did develop a bit of Vertigo in my old age '.' , no big problem though.

I like all the glass and reflections. I have a bit of a thing about frogs and rats!

Am I missing something here?? I don't get the fascination with Apple stores. I live in Australia and either we are missing out on something or we just don't get it..

P.S. I have a massive phobia of needles. The thought of getting a needle makes me pass out. Seriously!

I was at the 14th Store yesterday and prefer the circular staircase to SoHo's store....though it is dizzying.

I'm not a big fan of heights either, but my biggest phobia is cockroaches....eeew, I hate them.

I enjoy your blog. I love New York and its so exciting to come to your blog everyday and see a new picture. I have a daily photo blog as well. Its of a small county in Virginia right along the Blue Ridge Mountains. I would love to list a link of your blog on my page and if you could do the same. Hope to hear back from you and thank you for the wonderful daily photos!

As Mandy pointed out, what happens to women wearing skirts or men wearing kilts or dhotis on the transparent stairs? :-)

Happy birthday (belatedly) and may you have a great year til the next one!
