I saw these old men playing Chinese chess at the Columbus Park in Chinatown last weekend. It resembles Western chess but is played on a different type of board. I remember playing this when I was a kid but I don't know how to play it now.
What kind of board games did you play as a kid?

Never heard of Chinese chess, but I used to play Mahjong at least 3 times a week.
monopoly, 4 in a row, and nowadays my kids play poker :)
used to love 4 hour long sessions of monopoly
I discovered Monopoly when I was about 10 and coerced my family to play it all the time, and I also love to play Scrabble.
And Patience with playing cards.
And Snakes and ladders.
What a pity that you lost your Chinese culture !
I lived with my parents in Singapore as a child and I can still play mah-jong. I've taught my kids too and it's a favourite at home !
Never good at Chinese chess.
I remember playing some kind of animal chess when I was younger.
Definitely Monopoly :-)
