Metropolitan Museum of Art

This impressive staircase is the central entrance to the 2nd floor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Upper East Side. The museum has a South Wing (Greek & Roman Art) and a North Wing (Egyptian Art). This central entrance leads directly from the front door of the museum to the back, where the American Art is located.

So when was the last time you visited a museum?

Its been years since I have been to an art museum. Dallas is suppose to have a great one. After living here for 14 years, I will put it on my to do list for this summer.

I enjoy visiting here every time I'm in NY. Hard to get tired of the Metropolitan. Great art and architecture for sure!

Wow..what a nice shot of a great staircase.

The last time I went to a museum.. should be end of last year.. I consider the city of Rome as a great architectural museum.

My husband and I were on that staircase during our honeymoon last September. The last museum I went to was the Centralia Area Historical Society Museum in Centralia, Illinois.

Glad your back from your out of town. I love the Met (your picture is beautiful) but must admit I get a little overwhelmed by it. I'll run in to see a specific exhibit (Coco C was wonderful-but the windows of Sax during the exhibit were almost as good).I must have ADD or something.
My favorite museums in New York are the Frick, Morgan Library and I love The Lower East Side Tenement Museum. I never get tired of these three. Last museum I went to was the Pompeii exhibit at Balboa Park in San Diego in February.

Went to see the Museum of Fine Art in Boston a couple of years ago. It was wonderful.

We have a wonderful museum in Hanover, NH - Hood Museum at Dartmouth College. I plan to go there this year...

TGIF!!! Finally, some moments without having to think on things to do tomorrow and with time to come and enjoy your posts!
I like the Metropolitan, but always feel that's a bit too BIG... The bikes look cute and the carrot patch amazing!
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter where I'm now strolling around Bilbao!
Have a great weekend!

Oh, I have almost the same picture. Excellent ^-^ . The Metropolitan was so much fun...and I went a bit overboard with the picture taking because it was *allowed* (it never was, where-ever I lived/went).

Last museum visit: Roughly two weeks ago. At the Cheese Museum in Stein/Appenzell (Switzerland). This is not a joke. They show you how to make cheese and there is some tasting, too!
