New Paint Job

I was waiting for the bus a couple days ago when I noticed these guys (well, you can only see one of them in the photo) doing a paint job on a bar called, P.J. Hogan on Queens Boulevard. I shot a couple of frames not expecting much from the photos but when I got home and load them on the computer, I realized that they came out a lot nicer than I expected.

The last time I painted an apartment was when I helped a friend paint his new apartment almost 20 years ago. So when was the last time you did any house painting?

N.B.: I took a day off from posting yesterday because I was not able to upload the photo from home.

Hah! Seems there's a lot of sprucin' up going on in the Irish Pub community. I stopped by the Irish Emigrant pub in Seattle this evening and found a wet paint sign on the door jamb and the ownere busy washing the sidewalk in front of the pub with a power washer. Big day, this St. Paddy's Day!! Are you wearin' the green???

As for painting ... only last fall and I'm afraid there is more in my future. Sigh.....

Oh, you are giving me an awful reminder. Our place desperately needs painting. Last paint jo was son's room about 4-5 years ago. Husband fell off ladder and hurt shoulder....time to get up the ladder again for some other rooms.

Looks like spring has sprung? Short sleeves...

Neat. Looks like there is a lot of splatter on the awnings but I am inclined to believe most is from pigeons. Also, did you notice the graffiti?

Painting? I never paint anymore. I just snap my fingers together and the genie pops out. I point to the wall and tell him the color and presto it changes right before my eyes. I thought everyone did it that way and then I see this photo. I guess the owner can't snap his fingers.

A fresh coat of paint can do so much to freshen up something. Looks like classic white, my fav.

I know that painting now and then is necessary, but I believe I promised myself never to paint again after two weeks painting of my son's new flat a couple of weeks ago! Let's see!

You are right, your pic is really nice!

I thought you posted it because it was an Irish Pub! :-)

Last time I painted was in June after I closed my store and decided to move my office to the upstairs bedroom overlooking the cow pasture. When we decided to paint our bedroom a few months later, I remembered a wise proverb: Pay the man.

We did.

I love those action shots, they show the real life of the city.
Pity this guy had his feet cut off but otherwise an excellent photo !

Last time I did a paint job was just a few months ago when I painted my entire apartment before moving in. Two coats throughout, doors walls and ceilings, all on my own. Ripping the benefits now. I love my apartment.

Ming, congratulations on your "after the rain" photo of March 10. Funny how it's very similar in style to my bike photo of last Friday. Must be the cobblestones. :-)

1st time visiting. Your blog has a nice, clean look. I like the way you close each post with a question.

Since you asked, the last time I painted at home was when I recessed the bathroom wall instead of taking a proper vacation in July of '07.

I leave the House painting to Ming,naturally..there are just some things that I don't do HA!HA! I'm better at Supervising. Guess what? Our Dear Bel has gotten hitched!
Take care & chat soon, ok?

I had our building's handyman paint my apartment, but I do keep a small can of paint so I can do periodic touchups.
