Gaucho Grill

This gaucho grill was one of the food ventors at the street fair on Greenpoint Avenue and 48th Street in Sunnyside, Queens. I believe these meats on the spit are skirt steaks and they are served with boiled potatoes covered in salt and plantains (fried green bananas).

I'm not a fan of grilled steak but I do love a good juicy burger. What is your meat of choice?

That's tough - I'm trying to eat less red meat - but, I do love a really good steak!!!

Ham would be my favorite.

You know when I come up to NYC I will want to go there - that looks so good...I love plantains!!! Both green and ripe! They are both very different.

I'll take a good sirloin and some meaty pork ribs. Thanks!

I'm a typical American I guess; I love all kinds of meat. Give me a NY Strip steak anytime, BUT DH and I are trying to cut down because of the way farm animals are treated and slaughtered. Oh, dear! What a dilemma!

Heavenly day Ming!...if I didn't know this was on the streets of New York, I would think it on the range out west, or something the Vikings might have eaten :)For steak...a nice Filet Mignon...or...a juicy burger would do quite nicely.. A great photo never-the-less...

I'm asking for a small cut of grilled steak! Sometimes, it's the portions that puts me off. Good juicy burger sounds good too :)

Sometimes they serve it with a chopped fresh cabbage salad too. That is my favorite street fair lunch vendor. I seek them out when I see a street fair in progress...
