Jackson Heights Co-ops

These are one of the numerous co-op (somewhat like condo) buildings I mentioned about yesterday. Majority of them were built around 1920's and fashioned to resemble the English garden apartments in London. Behind these buildings are elaborate private community gardens that are accessible to the residents only.

So do you have a garden in your building/house?

N.B.: I posted this yesterday but realized it was theme photo day so I had to "withdraw" this post and put up a new one to reflect the selected theme: water.

Those are very attractive. I have a small (currently slightly neglected) garden at my house, but I've always dreamed of having an apartment with a conservatory, like the one in the movie Green Card.

We're lucky to have a tree in front of my building.

Nice shot of the buildings. Only cement behind my building. :-( But like citygirl15, we do have trees in the front. :-)

They do remind me of some apartments in London. I wonder how spacious is each unit.

Love this photo, Ming! I like specially the shape of those windows! I guess it is a traditional shape in NY...

Looks like a nice place to live, especially with the gardens in back. I wish I had a garden. It's just plants on my windowsill for now!

Singaporeans live in 'pigeon holes' built by the government so nope, there are no gardens. The space is simply too small and limiting.

Dear Ming,
Paz told me about your blog - and it is wonderful.
Not to mention you have BIG astounding pictures on it.
May I add you to my blog roll?
I'm mostly in Marraech but am here for another week.
Greetings!

Yes, really looks like part of London! I have a mini garden on the backside of my house, but certainly much less fancy that what I can imagine behind these facades!

I dont have a garden, but there's a 'shared' garden in the place where i am living.

We have some friends who just bought a co-op in a building like that. Very lovely.

Yes, it looks very desirable. I'm lucky enoughto live in a stand alone house, so have my own (smallish) garden.
