I was at a furniture store in SoHo yesterday and I saw this cute little dog lying on the floor, looking totally bored. When I walked over to take her photo, she immediately sat up and posed for me. She knew she had my attention. In return for the photo, I gave her a pat on the head, a chin rub and she was thrilled to bits. Her owner was too busy talking with a friend to notice anything.
So what do you usually do to get people's attention?

Ming, you are incredible. Thanks for the time you spend leaving encouraging comments on mine and I'm sure many other posts. I don't really "do" anything to attract peoples attention except be outspoken and honest-- that seems to do the trick. Also wanted to mention about your yesterday post-- our first home exchange to N.Y. was October 2001 with my daughter and her family. The Netherlands had sent a million?
daffodil bulbs to plant all over New York after 9/11. The Dairy in Central Park was passing them out to people and my daughter and 7 year old grandson and myself spent a couple of hours planting to the northeast of the Dairy. I always take a picture of it if I'm there in the spring.
I look forward to your pictures and posts.

O my, at first glance, I thought somebody dropped a hairpiece! What a fuzzy cutie.
To get people's attention, I scream. I rarely do that, to be honest. It's not easy to be short.
It's amazing the relationship you can have with a dog, and the owner hasn't a clue. Love the photo, Ming.
What do I do to get people's attention? Oh, that's easy...I pat them on the head and give them a chin rub!
she does have a 'come, scratch my chin' look!!
cute! been a while since visiting here and what a pretty welcome! to get attention....try to avoid it....one tends to stand out being a 'foreigner' (ie tall, white, curly hair) in rural japan!! ha ha!
Nice post, Ming. I thought it was a buffalo head on the wall in the portal and that disturbed me enough to come and see. Glad it was this splendid pooch. Nice photo.
I bet you were tempted to unhook the lead and take her home - those doleful eyes!
Thanks for visiting on my Blogbirth Day!
Absolutely adorable!! I love the perspective of this shot too - great photo!!
I want that puppy!
I stopped by Wet Nose on Friday to take a look at all the pooches in day care. When I inquired about reservations, I was told there is a waiting list of 100 names, to which we added ours.
haha. She is adorable! Look at those little eyeballs!
I bet she is a treat to pet.
I don't do much at all. I'm not one for attention.
I can have scathing humor at times and I have a distinctive laugh. That's about it.
It would have been a crime to ignore such a cute little pooch.
Point camera at people to get attention, but then they have tendancy to run away and hide from me.Perhaps I should re think this.
Ming, nicely held detail in the eyes. Tough subject photographically, black on black. My first thought was somebody's wig ... then they sparkle in the eyes gave this away along with the leash. Ciao.
So cute, Ming! Looks like a ball of black and soft wool! Adorable!
And, she knew you had bacon in your pockets! ;)
What a sweet little thing she is...
and you are such a kind fellow...:)
Oh, so cute! Cute dog!

P.S. Your photos at the New York Street Shots are spectacular.

Hi, sorry I haven't been commenting a lot lately - it's the flu season for me it seems!
Love this little baby!!! You can barely see her eyes in all the fluff! They know when someone really likes them...
BTW, New York Street Shots were great!!!

Oh, what an irresistible face! Look at those pleading eyes! Who wouldn't want to give her a hug? Only someone with a heart of stone could resist that doggy entreaty.

I know that look: "resistance is futile. give me milkbones." You really captured her attention! Great shot!
i thought it was a new type of mop when i first looked at it..
then i read your comments, ah it's a dog.. only then i noticed the 2 eyes :P
Hehehe are you sure that's a dog? Looks like a floor mop!!
Ming, this is priceless. What would we do without the "chin rub"?
I've just looked through a great bunch of your stuff for the past couple of weeks. Cobble stone, daffodils, dogs and NATURALLY a couple of cafes. A nice collection if ever there was.
"Just for you" there's a coffee shop menu on today's RuT.
