Here is a macro shot of a sunflower from the Greenmarket at Union Square. At first I thought the bits of white discoloration at the bottom right of the photo were specks of dust from my camera lens. After reviewing more photos of the sunflower (I took about 6 similar photos), I realized they were actually some sort of dust material (or pollen) trapped by the flower's hairy parts.
I hope your week is as sunny as this sunflower.

Great close-up. Wonderful color.
That's spectacular! I especially like the part in the middle of the sunflower.
My week has been all rain. A sunflower was just perfect timing!
A spectacular photo!
Aaaaah-tchooo!
i love sunflowers!Great photo:)
Each winter, I put many sunflower seeds in several birdfeedings (?) in my garden and every spring, some seeds sprout...But they are never as beautiful than yours!
Van Gogh would be proud of you!
I love the intricacy of this sort of shot - someone knew what they were doing when they created things - yes?
It would be pollen. It is still in the process of ripening or was. I like to see the flowers in this stage and here, so do the squirrels and some birds, who eat the still green seeds. Nice shot.
Gorgeous close up, Ming. For a minute I thought, "Common Ming, there are no sunflowers growing in NYC. It's a concrete jungle, right? Then I read that this was from the Greenmarket. Nice to see this bright flower. Lord knows when we will see the sun or summer here. . .sigh (seriously, the grumpy factor all over town is measurable.)
