West Village Vista

Here is another rooftop vista from my friend's apartment. This view faces the west side -- toward the Hudson River and New Jersey. The street in front of the sloped roof townhouses (lower left) is Greenwich Street, which is only two blocks away from the river.

My friend mentioned that she has seen people walking around naked in their apartments through those huge windows from her rooftop. This is typical for city life because almost everyone's window faces another apartment building.

Has that ever happened to you?

Yes indeed! My appartment has views of the back of several brownstones. The guy living just in front of mine walks around very comfortably, lol. I can even tell you he has a new boyfriend who is very goodlooking (not that I am really peeking).

haha, I guess that never happened to me, but I've seen something more insane, a guy taking shower at the rooftop of his apartment building. (I didn't peek, just accidentally, accidentally saw him...)

My neighbor stands outside his garden apartment door and talks on the phone in an "outside" voice, about topics that one normally keeps private. But hey, maybe sharing is good.

He is about 40 and lives with his aging mother, who is cooky too.

This is a really intersting photo, I love the diversity of the buildings!

It happened to me once. It was during the dog days in july and august 2003 in France.I remember that during the nights, the temperature could be around 86°F...

My building had a view on the back of the others ones.I was in my kitchen and had a look through the window... and I saw a woman washing her dishes topless !

Thanks for your compliment today on my double rainbow in Belgrade!

We live on the 7th floor out of 10 but (un)fortunately don't face any building close-up. There are however other buildings around, and while walking my dog I have several times seen people popping out on their porches to hang out some laundry or whatever in their birthday suits.

You don't want to see the view out my window...

Well I haven't, but the people living in the building opposite of mine might have /c:

Not in these parts do you see anyones parts. There again there are a lot of closed curtains? Don't have the taller building here. Believe me, a Manx beer belly is not a pretty site?

First, I love the view. You know, when you change your perspective, things you see all the time really change, don't they?

When we lived in Columbus, OH, we had a neighbor who didn't have window covers on her bathroom, and she would take showers in full view of everyone. Consider that this was in a nice, suburban subdivision, too. One of the neighbors who lived in her cul-de-sac finally told her that she didn't appreciate having her young sons "exposed" to the exposure. LOL

YES, YES, YES.....my window faces another building and there's a guy always walking around naked. I try not to look, but sometimes cannot help it.
