Borders Bookstore

This is the ceiling of the atrium at Borders Bookstore by Wall Street in Lower Manhattan. My friend's fiancé had a meeting in the area yesterday afternoon so she and I met up at the bookstore to hang out until he was done. Then all three of us went to dinner later in the evening.

So how has your week been so far?

That's a very flash bookstore. I lose all track of time once I enter a bookstore.

I might never leave this bookstore! Do they serve coffee and pastries? Have not seen one like this with the "museum" columns and ceiling. Adding this stop to my NYC list of to do's this winter.
Thanks, Ming. Another great photo.

Week's been pretty quiet so far -- no Dalai Lama encounters like last week! Great photo, Ming. Do you know what this space was originally?

It does have a swish London hotel feel. So much better it's a bookstore. Apart from idiots asking me to stop writing my blog and posting pictures of litter and grafitti, just fine. I decided to keep the comments on. Especailly the leave the island ones. I'd be safer in New York!

What Marley and sonia said!

Week has been so-so. Am tired, trying to keep from getting a cold, lacking motivation at work despite having a big project....

Did you just happen to have your camera or did you already know the ceiling existed? Nice perspective.

One of the few things I miss, living in France, are English/American book stores. That ceiling is incredibly impressive. Would love to be there browsing the shelves.

Used to enjoy hanging out in Borders when I was CA. There is no such enjoyment here in TW. I'm just not into Chinese books/mags. :O
