Ferns For Now

Everything I photographed lately has turned out . . . blah!! I have been lacking inspiration or been visiting the familiar haunts too frequently. I need to find a new place to visit instead of tSoHo, Little Italy, Union Square and East Village.

So here is something from the archives. It's ferns for now!

Oh yes, I understand! NYC is so a small and annoying city...;-)
In reality, I do understand, after two years around my own blog, I' m often wondering if my visitors aren't going to be bored by the same views...Sea and boats, again and again...

Ferns, ferns, everywhere ferns! It's rained relentlously since our return to La., and our yard is lined with tons of these ferns.

Lack of inspiration you say? Me thinks you should splurge and buy that wonderful cam you like so much. Would take months to learn all of it's new capabilities.

After our recent visit here are some themes that come to mind...

Musicians (everywhere in the city)
Gay culture (death of, rebirth of)
Suits (Bus. suits..where?)
Bike culture in NYC (Much bigger now.)
Living at the water's edge.(Apart living on the bay, river, etc..)
Mysteries of NYC Bridges
Irish Pubs (Some very old ones)
Hell's Kitchen (Intrepid will soon re-dock!)

Just some ideas for ya!

Hi from South Shields, nice picture you have here today. At least it's "green" therefore fashionable!

I need your support, see my latest post at South Shields Daily Photo

Photographers rights in the UK and worldwide are under increasing threat and we need to make a stand now!

Unless something changes dramatically, this will be the last ever post at South Shields Daily Photo.

I love Olivier's comment! I love ferns in summer. I am a threat to photograph them over and over. This is so fresh and the color to vivid. Where'd you take this, Little Italy? HA

Makes me want to dive in. Can't beat greenery.

Just don't let your cattle herd eat that bracken. It's bad for their stomachs.

You know, the scale of this fern turned out to be exactly life-sized on the screen. How about a series of life-sized details of Central Park? Or of the Upper East Side? Or of the Battery? Say, did you ever visit the David Byrne building?

Even though from the vaults its a good photo, fresh and green.

You may recall I was feeling the same as you a few weeks ago but I got through the haze of uninspriration. I made myself walk in areas I've not been for years. It worked! I got some cool shots (in my opinion!) and I felt re-energised with regard to my blog. I was on the verge of stopping doing it! Get out there this weekend. Go on Ming, you know you want to!

I'm glad you didn't post a photo of curtains, Ming.
I hear what you're saying - I stick to downtown a lot, but there are other parts of the city to explore. And if I can say that about little ole Knoxpatch, I'll bet you have lots of unexplored potential in NYC.

I love ferns. They grow in the shade... Which is usually where you can find me!
