Gruyère Tartine

I had lunch this afternoon with fellow NYC bloggers, Lisa of Gramercy Cafe and Todd of Postcards from Hell's Kitchen at Le Pain Quotidien, an amazing Belgian cafe/restaurant in Union Square. Unfortunately, I "lost" my camera this morning so was not able to take any photos except this one with my cell phone.

Lisa and Todd took a lot of photos including one with actor, Jesse May who starred in a Pepsi commercial. Go to Lisa's blog to see the commercial on YouTube.

My lunch included a bowl of gazpacho (you can see part of it on the top right of the photo above) and gruyère tartine with mustard. It was super delicious and I think everyone had a good time. So what did you have for lunch today?

N.B.: I found my camera in a grocery bag from yesterday.

Oooh, I recognize this from meals I've had at Le Pain Quotidien. I like their breakfast best, but for lunch, the curried-chicken-salad sandwich: de-lish.
Glad you found your camera!

Looks good. I had fried capellini and a broccoli rabe pinwheel. Heading to the fridge now for some cheese :)

That's so cool that you all met up. The only blogger I've met has been Chris from Nashville Daily Photo. BTW she's awesome!

tu as de la chance d'avoir retrouver ton appareil dans ce sac ;o).
Du gruyère avec de la moutarde, cela ne me plairait pas beaucoup ;o(

you're lucky to find your camera in the bag ;o).
From Swiss cheese with mustard, it does not please me a lot ;o(

My lunch was definitely not as healthy as this!

That looks good! It's too early for lunch here, but yesterday I had spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and meatballs. Today? Who knows?

Glad yu found your camera; that would really shake me up! I think that you are a bit of a foodie. The lunch sounds delicious. My lunch was a quesadilla (whole wheat) with cheese, tomatoes, and ground turkey--made it myself!

Really "lost" the camera or do you mean it broke so you have 'lost' the use of it?

I would have been sick to my stomach if I lost a camera and would not be able to eat for a long time. Which, in my case, would be a good thing. Not the lost camera. Not eating for a long time!

My lunch was to ordinary to mention. Found your camera in a shopping bag huh/ That's the kind of stuff I do. LEft my cell phone in one for a week till I figured it out. When you buy a big honker SLR, that won't happen.

It was a great lunch....and so much fun meeting up again.

Camera in a grocery bag??? You're lucky to have found it....I probably would have thrown out the bag.

Ming, my man. I have just gotten back from a vacation in the countryside of Japan. How did you know I needed a good ol' New york lunch to come back too?

What do you do when you go on vacation???

What a good photograph with a cell camera! And thank goodness you found your main camera! I worried till I got to the end of your commentary.

And Ming, thanks so much for kind comments on Menton and Monte Carlo. I think my pics have improved since I got the new camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ 18. I love that long zoom. But people have been so kind helping me with advice. CDP photographers are a great bunch including YOU.

And to answer a question - I go into Monaco about once a week, sometimes twice. I live 11 kilometres away so not far.

Glad you found your camera... See, Lisa is such a minimalist she would have thrown out the bag. I would keep the bag to re-use on a different day... And the conversation goes on...

Here's your gazpacho: http://flickr.com/photos/toddhellskitchen/2784215003/

Nice meeting you!

Cheers,
Todd

I set things down and forget where all the time. At least with my cellphone, I can call it and follow the ringtone. I'm glad you found your camera.
I had a Sonic burger, tater tots and a root beer. Not healthy, but tasty.

This is MY kind of lunch--it looks delish! You don't really wanna know what I had because it was so very spartan and unexciting! :-0

Lunch looks so inviting! Your cell phone photo is great. Lost camera - no more blogs? That would be awful. Glad you found it.

Phew...I freaked a bit for a second there when you said you lost your camera! What would the daily photo blog do without a camera???? =P
