We Accept Euros

The decline in US dollars has made NYC an affordable vacation spot for many Europeans. This week alone, I saw a couple of stores advertising, "We Accept Euros" on their windows including this restaurant in Little Italy.

So if the situation was the other way round (i.e. US$1 = €1.50), where in Europe would you like to go? For our European readers, where in the US would you like to visit aside from NYC, of course.

Yes , yes, I have a smile on my face now on my online bookbuying sprees. I tell everybody that i MUST buy now that the $ is low. HA!

Other places I want to go: Washington DC - Smithsonian. And New Orleans. And San Francisco.

surprenant cette affiche, j'espere que cela va continuer jusqu'à Noël ;o)). Tu pourras demander si cela marche bien ?

Surprisingly this poster, I hope that this will continue until Christmas ;o)). You can ask if it works well?

Hello Ming! First, I'd like to spend again some days in NYC of course but, to answer to your question, I'd like to go to Adirondacks and Brice Canyon and San Francisco and Seattle and see some large wild spaces and...:-)

Smart of the restaurants to accept the euros.

Where would I like to go? Hmmm... The Mediterranean, I suppose... That would be nice....

Where would you like to go?

I was just reading articles about this surge in European visitors to NYC in particular. Apparently, the Apple store(s) are VERY popular! That's where I'd be, methinks...

(Funny Euro symbol on the sign. Looks like the 'set membership' symbol, doesn't it?)

I'm glad we don't except Euros here in the UK! Well not yet!

I'd like to visit Washington D.C. I loved The West Wing and would like to see some of the sites that were in the background of the TV show.

Bad dollar or not (thanks, George), am going back to Italy next month. (You should go, shammickite—you might come home a bit poorer in your wallet, but much richer in your heart and soul!)

Interesting. . . .I wondered if US retailers were taking Euros.

I would be in Barcelona in a heartbeat. . .planned on going there this Sept. until the exchange rate continued to get worse.

My ears are ringing way more often than before (museums used to be where I hear French the most).

Let's see, I would do some massive shopping in my favorite shops back home. So Brussels and Nice are a given for me.

whatever, european's can visit all they want. tourism is a great source of money for our economy and they wouldn't leave their precious country to move here so i'm not bothered by them free loading.

I remember going to London, many years ago when the dollar was worth something.

Plan on going to Greece sometime next year.
