Eric of Paris Daily Photo was in NYC yesterday and a number of the local DP family showed up to welcome him to our little village by the sea. Despite the awful weather outside, we had a great turn out.
Alexa of The Road is Mine organized the event and MissB in NYC, Elizabeth of About New York, Mame of New York and I met up with a few of Eric's friends for dinner at Pipa, a tapa bar/restaurant near Union Square.
So what did you have for dinner?

I hope you all had a great time! Eric looks wonderfully handsome in your photo. ;)
That's a grand thing to have Eric as a guest in your city, Ming. And the restaurant looks cozy and warm.
The family gathering sounds fun.
Oh, that is a beautiful picture! I just love the natural light, and the motion captures. Eric looks so romantic there.
I like the dark shades of mahogany that this picture depicts!
Cheers!

I like the light created by candles .
And I saw you, Ming, on Paris DP! Testerday evening, we eat strawberries, the last ones for this year I think...
Yep. That's him! You got to dine with Eric. Nice photo. Very nice indeed.
No comment on my dinner yesterday!
What a cosy atmosphere, you must have had a good time!
I wish I could have been there. I'd love to meet Eric.
Wow!
You are quick getting up and into the blogosphere.
A SUPER photo of a lovely evening.
Hope we all meet up again soon.
Fabulous, Ming! And I saw you on Paris DP. Oh what a super night you must all have had. I adore your photograph - love the soft light, the atmosphere. One day I'll hope to meet the wonderful Eric too. And you!
Wow, that's such a wonderful shot!! It was great to see you last night. That was such fun! I hope we do it again soon!
OOOhhhhhh, we're all swooning over this shot Ming. Good one! He might need to put this one on his blog. So where did he put his crown???

PS When I pop up to NYC to visit you all I expect the same treatment-HA
So glad you asked, Ming. Last night for dinner, we had Roast Pork Tenderloin with Tart Cherries. The cherries not only livened up the flavor with a nice sweet and savory mix, they added major heart healthy benefits. And I must echo everyone's comments here--a gorgeous photo, Ming! The lighting, the selective focus, the motion blur... all perfect.
What a great photo!
I love all of your photos. I bet NYC is a great place to live.
Ming what a great great photo! Thanks so much for posting this for all of us who couldn't be there.
; )
I had the same thing you had, of course! So good to see you again last night. (I actually like the way you caught me in motion in this neat picture of Eric.)
Not only tapas, also sangria! Looks really cozy and nice! It's nice to meet other bloggers!
Gee, I just missed this by one week. I'm sure it was a fun gathering just like our get together in NYC last month.
Oops! I forgot to answer your dinner question. Tacos and beer with my Vespa club group :)
Thanks for posting, Ming. Sorry I missed the shindig. Always next time!
lovely photo. really captures the atmosphere.
Glad you had a good time.

Virginia's right. Swoon! Not just for the subject, but for your great photography.
Veggie Lasgane.
What a great photo, the godfather himself of the cpd, but the ghostly guest too. As for the swooning, it's a french thing.
I'm sorry I missed that. He'll just have to come back!! ;)
Looks like a very nice evening. Great pic - love the atmosphere you captured.
Looks like a lovely place for dinner and to meet up with friends old and new. Like the atmosphere that comes through in the shot.

Thanks for sharing, Ming. Glad you all had a cool evening. Cheers!
Our great creator! What a wonderful photo, seems you all had a great time. If I ever get to New York next spring I hope for the same treatment, although you don't have to be in awe of me! Lol :)
I can't get enough of this picture. I better stop looking at your blog for a while.
that is truly cool.
I'm sorry I missed the dinner. It would've been neat to see him as a person and not the itty bitty icon!
Sorry I missed the meet-up. It was a miserable, rainy night and I wasn't feeling up to partying after a long day at work.
Thanks for this proof that Eric was on US territory. So did it feel like hanging out with a rock star? Oh and it was nice to see you on PDP -- good to put a face with a name.
Nice pic!
I love the way the candlelight dances in the wine glasses.
And the light falling through the tall french style doors in the far back right warmly highlights the thick velvet drapes.
Also your use of shutter and selective focus clearly frames Eric at the foot of the table.
Nice job!
Brien
