The Other Rat Mural

Here is the other rat mural I saw last weekend in SoHo on Spring Street near West Broadway. This rat looked a lot cuter than the one I posted yesterday. He even has a 'I *heart* N Y' t-shirt. Apparently, he was caught red handed drawing a mural of a rat. How brilliant is this?

So what is your plan for the weekend?

N.B.: Apparently, the two rat murals are by British artist, Banksy. Here is his website: Banksy.

Two amazing murals!!

These are amazingly well done rats. Yesterday's rat looked like a regular on Wall Street, absconding with the cash...

Thanks for preserving these for us to see, before they get painted over.

Escaping the City and going for some much needed R&R!

I love the rat paintings. So vivid.

Tout simplement magnifique ces deux peintures murales (amusant celui qui a dessiné une petite souris verte). Cela mérite d'être en poster.
Bon Weekend

Simply these two magnificent murals (fun one that drew a small green mouse). This deserves to be poster.
Good Weekend

Love his expression! I read somewhere there are so many rats in NYC, as many as New-Yorkers...

I like the expression on his face ;)

I really like these rats! ... but I don't know what the local people may think about this kind of illustration, maybe not glorifying the area! ?

No plans for the weekend! Let's see!

Thanks for giving the "address" of this mural...I'm a huge fan of Banksy, and I was desperate to know where to find this paiting during my next trip to NYC...so merci beaucoup!! And if you're interested in the artist : http://www.banksy.co.uk/outdoors/horizontal_1.htm

Well after my tale yesterday about my rat phobia, this one isn't so bad I guess. I prefer to think of him as a hamster with a tail. :)

Weekend? Art Show, hope springs eternal. Maybe I will break even on my photos. Why do I do this to myself? I am doing it for a friend is why.
And after, my granddaughter's Halloween/birthday party. I have a witch hat with black feathers and I am always read a Halloween story to the kiddos.

Ming, what 's up for you this weekend? Is this when you all have your "Papal Audience" with Eric ???

Does Banksy show his art anywhere but the walls of Manhattan?

These are great murals. The one yesterday looks like a Wall Street Banker absconding with the money.

hard to believe Banksy is in NY. That's cool.

I love his expression! "It wasn't me gov!"

Plans for the weekend - charity quiz night tomorrow, rest and relaxation the rest of the time!

Re the large photo problem. I should have kept quite yesterday as it is really playing up today! I'm no computer whizz and it has taken ages for my little brain to work out how to sort it. Why is nothing ever easy?! Blogger is playing silly buggers again!

Banksy is an anonymous graffiti artsist from Bristol, in the UK. You can go on Bansky tours around London and Bristol of his work. I even have his book. A lot of people in the UK think that my partner Gary Barker is Bansky as he's the Polical Cartoonist for the BBC. Wish he was I would be a rich gal. Plans for the weekend! Photographing the local rugby team then joining them for a drink. Tough job being a photographer.

On the Isle of Man it's bad luck to say rat, we call them longtails.

You'll find Banksy's work all over London. He's totally brilliant. I really like your photographs of his rats, Ming.

That's funny. The two styles are slightly different but you can still see it's from the same artist. The "banker" one (my favourite) looks like an illustration for a children book (I want to say like Emily Potter, but that's not exactly that). And I like how it contrast with the message. This one is more cartoonish. Fit the theme too.
