73rd Street & Broadway Avenue

This beautiful building is located on the north west corner of 73rd Street and Broadway Avenue on the Upper West Side. The glass roof on the lower left corner is the 72nd Street subway station that I featured a couple months ago.

So what are your Thanksgiving plans (for US residents)? For non US residents, how is your week going?

je ne connaissais pas, il est vraiment magnifique cet immeuble, par contre surprenant le haut du bâtiment.
I did not know, it's really beautiful this building, by surprise against the top of the building.

Lovely image, Ming! I have fond memories of this neighborhood.
I'm going to my brother's on Thanksgiving, then driving up to the Boston area the next day for another 4,000-calorie meal (just what I need!).
And what about you? Who's cooking your turkey?

I think Farrah Fawcett lives there, and Jerry Seinfeld lives just up the street (amongst many other names in the area im sure).

does the thanksgiving day parade pass by this building?
this is an interesting shot.
I plan on going for a jog in the morning, cooking, and then visiting with family. oh & watching Fanny and Alexander, a great film we watch every year at thanksgiving.
what are you doing Ming?

Did you ever see someone on this round balcony to the top of this beautiful building? Who can be living there?
No days off here, poor Frenchies who have to work hard while American people take a rest...;-)

really one of my favorite buildings in NY. I used to live a couple blocks away.
it blows me away to know how many famous people lived there.

I'm first because I apparently jet lag has me all messed up! This building looks like the zillion of buildings I shot in Paris. Lovely. Glad to be home and reading the blogs this am! Ming, will email you later today about an idea I have. Later,
V

Looks like Paris.
Yeah, no Thanksgiving here in Italy. I am having a "homely" week with my little one at home with flu...

Such wonderful details. They don't make buildings like this anymore.

My week? Good thanks, I'm not at work until tomorrow!

I've always loved the Ansonia. I was invited to a party there once, and was excited to finally see the inside. It's one of the prettiest buildings on the Upper West Side. (I'm heading to PA for thanksgiving. Hope you have a good holiday!)

That's a very impressive building. I find it delightful that NYC has these grand old dames and young whipper-snappers of glass skyscrapers standing proudly side by side. Gives it so much character.

I just cleared out my desk of paperwork last night, whoopie! Now to tackle all the tasks I wrote on little sticky notes… We've just started the three busiest weeks of the school year for our office!

MIng
remind me about Mid Month Subway doings. Apparently I am not sharing Paris with Peter, I am giving him a month off and flying solo. Yikes!!! Well I have a few passable ones ( and I did not have to throw him under the Metro to get them!) so I might resurface some other time as well, but it will be a surprise so he has to stay on his toes! :)

I enlarged the photo and was looking at the all the details, thinking all the while that I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to live there. Then I was tickled to see the air conditioning units in some of the windows. I'm sure it's a small trade-off for all the advantages living there offers.
I'm going camping over Thanksgiving and reading my brand spanking new, just out of the box from Amazon, first edition copy of Shreve Stockton's "The Daily Coyote".

Have always loved the Ansonia. The El Dorado on CPW is interesting as well.

@Ken Mac - I think the Dakota on CPW is home to Rosemary's Baby.
