This building is located on Broadway Avenue between 45th and 44th Street, right in the middle of Times Square. I was standing across the street in front of ABC-TV's studio when I looked up and saw the clock face on the top. I quickly took a few photos and moved on. It was only when I got home that I realized the colors in this photo are quite amazing.
So what is your favorite color?

And I'm sure you know the different colors are created by different types of light sources ... fluorescent and tungsten being the predominant ones in this image ...

Reminds be of the building at the end of Ghostbusters, just before the Marsh Mallow man appears.
I have got to come to NYC, your photos are really making me miss the place.
Gary.
PINK!!! New York never stops amazing me so many amazing buildings everywhere you look.
Have a great time tomorrow night whatever you are doing. Will comment on your blog next year!!!
You must, must remove "Avenue" from the title and the opening sentence of the post.
Other than that, this is one of the most magnificent and powerful photographs you have published!
Awesome photo, Ming.
Purple and yellow? Aren't those the Lakers' colors? ;D
Green, the darker shades.
Blue..,..and blue...
Black: white but they said "it's not colors",!?
Great photo!
I love white and blue.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
love the purple facade and the blue of the moving text on the left. makes me wonder what the sign said... looks like the word "NEW"
nice shot!
Stunning shot, wonderful colors: lilac and gold.
Lilac is one of my fav colors!
Nice shot, but, um... "Avenue"?

Great perspective!
Happy New Year!
Will you be returning to this square tomorrow night? :)
Mauve-- but I'm old so what do you expect. Happy New Year. Love your blog. I get my weekly NY fix from you.
Avenue, Schmavenue. Who gives a rip. This is a great photo Ming. Take a great big bow . Now the color is something else. All dressed up for New Years or Mardi Gras??

une belle photo, qui me donne la nostalgie. Noël dans la grosse pomme c'etait vraiment superbe.
a beautiful picture, which gives me nostalgia. Christmas in the Big Apple it was really beautiful.
Fantastic shot, Ming. What a reminder to never forget to look up! See what we miss? Purple and gold-go Lakers!

The building originally housed the Paramount Theatre where Frank Sinatra appeared in the 1940's. It is my favorite building in Times Square. It plays "Give my Regards to Broadway" for the incoming theatre crowd. Thanks for the beautiful photo, Ming.
First, I like this shot because of your angle and also because of the colors.
Funny enough, everyone thinks purple is my favorite color because I used it in my store a lot. It's NOT. I lean more toward aqua, although I don't use it in decorating or anything. Weird, huh?
oh wow! great angle, it looks like you lie on the floor to take this photo, i feel like walking on this building.
Nice shot
my fav color has always been green, until the recent yrs when i started liking soft pastels and bright colors (ie yellow). yeah they're like 2 ends of the extreme, but green will always hold a special place in my heart (and i noticed u took a pic of green M&Ms "statues" below! :>)
my fav colors are blue and black.
