Angelika Film Center

This is the lobby/lounge/cafe area at the Angelika Film Center on Houston and Mercer Street in SoHo where I went to see the movie, I've Love You So Long (Il Y A Longtemps Que Je T'aime) recently. The movie was good but what was even more amazing was getting out of the cold (below freezing temperature these last couple of days) and spending a couple of hours inside a warm and toasty theater watching Kristin Scott Thomas speak French.

So what movie have you seen lately?

I really want to see that. I'd read before that she's fluent in French and divides her time between the U.K. and France.

I recently saw Slumdog Millionaire. Totally adorable and heartwarming movie!

I haven't been to the Angelika since I first moved to NYC, something like 8 years ago!

Last one was The Bucket List ... sitting beside a nice warm fire in my wood stove :) It's been cold here, too, but not as cold as you've been. Brrr!

Slumdog Millionaire, the wonderful movie by Danny Boyle.

Hi Ming! Hope you survived the food and the champagne, and entered 2009 in great shape! ;))
Happy New Year!
Haven't been to cinemas lately; but yesterday saw «Erin Brockovich» again on TV; can't miss Julia... ;)
Blogtrotter will be posting on Delhi the next weeks; lots to see… Hope you like it and wish you a great weekend!

Sounds like a great place to spend some time when it is that cold in New York. Recently saw Benjamin Button and will see Slumdog Millionaire this weekend.

Ming, it's been a while since the last time I went to a cinema... I think I watched Cohen bro last film, and I really liked it!
Have a nice new year!
Love your snowing pics :)

I went to see "The Boy in Striped Pyjamas" with my family yesterday. It was beautiful and moving. A bit too moving for my 9-year-old, but it provided us an opportunity to talk about important issues.

I was expecting this post to be about the woman with the yellow scarf. She really stands out in the photo.

The last film I saw? Watched the remake of The Poseiden Adventure on TV last night. It was shockingly bad!

I haven't seen it yet! :(
Let's see... in theater, that would be Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times & City Lights, a double feature at the Film Forum.
Otherwise, that would be The best of everything, a b&w film from the 50ies about the romantic lives of working gals in New York City - think Mad Men with some romance. What can I say, I'm in the mood for chick flicks these days. :)

Just before our NYC trip we saw The Reader and Slumdog Millionaire. Both beautiful in very different ways.

Hope your new year's eve/day were enjoyable.

Awwww. this makes me so homesick for NYC. I have spent endless hours at this place. Saw Milk, thought it was good - Sean Penn really transforms.

We hardly ever go to the movies, but I promised myself to go and see MILK.
