This photo was taken around the corner of a restaurant in Nolita where they put their garbage bins -- you can see the plastic lids at the bottom of the page. The restaurant placed a sign saying the area was under video camera surveillance and (I assumed) someone stenciled a picture of a guy in a suit walking by or away with a bag.
I've been photographing murals a lot lately. I don't know if it is because there are a lot more of them in the city lately or they are getting better, artistically.
Has this ever happen to you?

Our post of two days ago was about a murals competition... so you're right!
Nice shot, and the stenciled guy seems quite real!
Beautiful shot ! i like the mural , the artist has made a good choice , it's really great with the warning sign !
belle trouvaille ;o))
nice find ;o))
Like photographers the best artists are sometimes the unsung street ones. They are definitely improving.
It's a really interesting series, Ming. This is quite intriguing, the man gets away under the camera, a green splash on his left adds colour to the scene.
And somebody just killed an alien off the frame…
You have a wonderful knack for finding very interesting spots. Your blog goes well with my morning coffee. (Anchorage Alaska)
Looks like somebody just got slimed to the left of this agent!
There are not a lot of murals up in my neck of the island .. but having said that I am now going to pay more attention ...
While traveling in Barcelona, I noticed many very colorful and artistic murals/graffiti on store fronts and walls. I loved it! But, I'm also one to think that much of the gang tagging is beautiful too!
I think you're perhaps more in tune with your environment as well.
Love Hilda's idea of the alien murder in this alley -:))
The guy actually looks like he's pulling the garbage...
Oh is Banksy in NYC
Excellent capture. I like murals and artistic grafitti, they often change and are topical. They are a good window on the world.
I believe you are right, mural decorations, graffiti... are getting better and also maybe better accepted. As we know some of these artists are now really recognised ... an making money!
Mo, you beat me to it! It does look like something Banksi would do !
I love this Ming. It's the sort of thing that Nathalie in Avignon finds in her city. Great graffiti and I love the way you've shot this.
I love mural paintings. They do it on our school buildings as well and it cheers you up.
I also take pics and then associate the pic with where I've been.
That reminds me of the back of John Cleese in the Ministry of Silly Walks sketch from Python.
