Theme Day: Glass

This photo was taken over two years ago when I first started taking photos for the blog. It was at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants that has since closed due to tough economic times. I was playing with the camera while waiting for my dinner to arrive.

I love the mellow lighting and the way it pings off the glass and the bar. Well spotted..

Love the way the glass has picked up that beautiful warm colour. Super choice for today, Ming. Sorry the restaurant closed. And it's going to get worse...

It's sad to hear that it has closed down. :-(

Very good shot: I like the play of lights all around the glass and the glasses.
Mmmmh... this sounds weird in english, also for my standard!

A mundane subject brought to the level of artistry — it's beautiful, Ming, and a wonderful choice for theme day!

I'm sorry to hear that the restaurant closed down after only two years. That's pretty fast, even for the fickle food industry.

Cool shot! it's a nice way to get amused waiting for the dinner to come!

I love all the reflections and shine! Do you have a lot of these gems hidden away in your photo archives?

This is an excellent capture. I like the red coloring and light. It is sad to hear about so many places that are not making it in the economy. We are going to lose a lot of great restaurants I am afraid. great photo for theme day

Dazzling! It is such a shame to read the text and see this place no longer exists except virtually. It really does twinkle so beautifully.

Gorgeous, and I can imagine myself relaxing and having a lovely glass of wine at that table.

I saw your comment on Julie's Scottsdale Daily Photo site. I also posted a glass on my site today, but it had wine in it with the sunset over the Pacific in the background. Tamarindo, Costa Rica is not a New York kind of place (although we do have a new condo building that is marketing itself as "New York Style" in a tropical beach town.

Your photo today captures the urban mood of time and place. I should add that Glenda, who also left a comment on your site today, is Julie's mother and is a big fan of your site. If I miss checking your site, she will usually tell me about it, as she is my mother-in-law, and mother-in-laws have a way of speaking up, don't they.

I love taking table shots like this in restaurants. The camera is stable, the lights are aesthetically placed. It's magic!

I love this photo, as soon as I saw it I got a flashback to a recent holiday to Tasmania, Aus. We stayed in a hotel in Hobart and for some reason the angle and the building in the background looks so similar. You aren't really in Hobart, are you? ;D
