Bird in a Gilded Cage

This little bird is trapped inside a gilded cage, otherwise known as The Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan. The 4-storey high atrium/space has shops and restaurants and somehow, this bird got itself trapped inside it. A lady placed some bread crumbs on the railing and the bird swiftly flew down to gobble them up. I only managed to get one good shot of this event.

So have you ever been in a beautiful place but still felt trapped?

I guess I feel most trapped in places full of people...no matter how beautiful they are! I like quiet, wideness and openess. Probably a little like this poor bird. It's a godd shot for a quick snap!

Yes: work.

Great shot, poor creature...
Not so lucky: I am usually trapped in plain, boring, ugly places.

I can feel trapped in a beautiful place if there are too many folks. Have to admit though that life is Paris has pretty much cured my "latent claustrophobic tendency". I just say to myself "well at least I don't have to be alone".

Oh dear, this is rather sad. I do hope this little bird makes it. Love the photo with the bird in front and blur heind yet we still see the luxury of the Trump Tower.

Poor Birdie... Not as bad as the chickadees and pigeons stuck in the subways

I like this shot, he is looking right at you.

Deep question today, I'll have to think about that one!

You were quick on the shutter to catch this one, Ming. Nicely done, although . . . awww, poor little bird.

Spent one year at a college in Pennsylvania -- beautiful campus, rolling hills, ivy-covered cage! (Left there and bought a one-way ticket to Paris. Freedom!)

Lovely capture, you were quick Ming!
Trapped? Yes, back in the country village where we used to live. Beautiful place but...

He really is staring at you. Perfect timing. Trapped me in beauty.. Uhm let me think. You have read my comments so you know. Live on beautiful island but get cabin fever. Real bad cabin fever.

The decisive moment. You nailed it my friend. Your DOF is perfect. Just enough to illustrate your title.
Bravo Ming,
