Neil's Coffee Shop

This was where I had breakfast recently -- Neil's Coffee Shop on Lexington Avenue and 70th Street on the Upper East Side. Old style diners like this are slowly being shuttered to make place for new fancy ones . I sat by the window and saw the neon lights next to the street signs so I quickly took the photo before my breakfast arrived.

So what did you have for breakfast?

Patisserie Menu

Last Sunday, I went to Ceci-Cela Patisserie in Nolita (North of Little Italy) for breakfast. I got a cup of cappuccino and an almond croissant, and sat outside on a bench in front of the cafe. While eating my breakfast, I saw this menu printed on the wall connecting the cafe to the store next door. I took a photo of it because I love the colors and typography. It reminds me very much of Provence, south of France.

To see a photo of me after I finished the croissant, click here to the Making of NYC DP.

So what would you order for breakfast if you were at this cafe?

Sunday Brunch

I love Sunday brunch. This is one of my favorite breakfast meals -- eggs cooked sunnyside up, sausages, home fries, rye toasts with butter and a cup of good coffee. Yes, it is cholesterolville and not something to be eaten every morning but it is a perfect meal before a visit to the museum or a walk around the city on a Sunday morning.

Chuckeroon of Richmond upon Thames Daily Photo has a totally different idea of a perfect Sunday breakfast. And I think his choice is healthier than mine. What would you like for Sunday brunch?

N.B.: I will be in Washington, DC for the next couple of days. Two&2 of LA Daily Photo will be posting the photos for me if I do not have access to a computer in DC.
