Fire Escape 2

This is a beautiful and ornate fire escape on the back lot of the Puck Building in SoHo (South of Houston Street). The building, or the front facade of it, is probably most famous as the place where Grace Adler of the tv-series, Will & Grace has her office.

The building got its name from the two gold statues of Puck, the Shakespeare character in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," at the front entrance. It is now home to the New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Ming, What a beautiful old building! We have structures like these with ornate detail in Australia known as 'Heritage Buildings'. These buildings, no matter how old ,will never be torn down. If needed, they are restored. Great job, Ming!

The Puck building is going to be famous for its pink color and the blue fire escape. I have never seen anything to compare.

The second episode of the robins is on the blog today. The mother's head is down the baby's throat.

Normally I'm not crazy about the fire escape aesthetics, but this one is pure eye candy ;-)

Yes, you are right, nicely ornamented. Usually I think they don't look that good, but here, very fine, especially the colors.

New York was a bit cold and rainy last Saturday for my 58th visit to the Big Apple. Anyhow, I enjoyed the short break and had wonderful cheesecake...
