Here is another photo of a colorful and cute street poster for Le Tigre, a clothing brand that originated from New York City. The photo was taken on Houston Street near Mulberry Street in SoHo.
I don't really understand the use of a cartoon monkey in the advertisement but the colors remind me of Andy Warhol's famous silkscreens. Speaking of Andy Warhol, I am planning on going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the MET) and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) this week because May is Museum Month in NYC.

Not to the Guggenheim? I loved it so much and MoMA ehm wasn't there when I visited NYC. I love Wharol (everything), Picasso (Guernica), V. Gogh (Wheat Field with Crows), Klimt (everything), ...
I like the Monkeys!
For me, Vincent Van Gogh - I like most of his work but probably Sunflowers if I had to name one.

This series of poster, is beautiful and funny. I love the Monkeys
Interesting photograph. I don't understand a lot of advertising these days. But you can never tell, maybe the monkeys run the place.
I read your blog last 1-2 months... How you can write stuff like this post?

For those all who think like me, I recommend another one New York City Daily Photo Blog!
I think the elvis ape is my fave, then the one with the flower, he seems charming
Museum month? Does it mean that museums are going to be crowded throughout the month?
I'm thinking of making a stopover in NYC to see the new MOMA; should I buy tickets in advance?
Yep, I've seen the Le Tigre brand of clothings around but why a monkey ? Hmmm....all the monkeys get the "nerdy" look though. Maybe the retailer wants to target a particular market ? Hee hee...
gmg - I went to MoMA today from 3-5 PM and it was not crowded at all.
The Museum Month is a little under the radar. It is not promoted actively, for some reason. I only knew about it from LA Daily Photo.
i took a museum class in college that took place at the MoMa. i love it there.
and how do you like the sg wannabe?
Prokur - I notice some cities have more than one Daily Photo contributor.
It's great that you've let us all know about another New York City daily photo blog - goodness knows, there are so many stories to share from this amazing city.
However, please don't criticise Ming's choice of photo topics.
This is HIS New York City daily photo blog, for him to share HIS New York city experiences.
It's a personal project, and Ming is therefore entitled to express his personal views and write about whatever he likes.
And I for one, love his blog, as do so many others who comment each day.
I stand by the belief that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.....or simply don't visit.
Bravo, Belinda! very well said. couldn't have said it better myself!!!
Lately, I've been fascinated with pop artists like Warhol and Haring.
Have you ever been to the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh? It's really something!
